Ok I have gotten various answers to this and nobody can say for sure either way

On my 70 coronet r/t convertible the drivers side grille has a badge in it that says Dodge ..now was this an option are they all supposed to have it what gives with these as I have seen them both on and off a lot of different 70's

I have a 70 Super Bee and to my knowledge and all I have seen, they came on all the Coronets. There should be 2 holes in the grille to attach it to.

My understanding is that superbees would not have come with the badging on the grill. Yes the mounting holes would still be there since all the grilles were made from the same mold. That has come up a lot.

Join the 1970 dodge coronet page on facebook along with a few others. quick answers there.

All the sales literiture on the 70 coronet R/T's show the Dodge badge.
My 70 convertible didn't have the badge when I bought it.
I think it's just one of those things that sometimes gets over looked.

Mine does not have the badge, but then again seems a bit strange to me that it would be an option. I don't know.

My Coronet 440 has it.

my r/t has and the 440 model I had when I started driving had it ...just seems like so far its a random thing depending of who was working that day

Do's anyone know if the badge is being repop'd ?

Hi Nick2317
Would you be so kind to take a close up picture of it and measurements.
And post them here.
Thanks

Can you post a picture of that literature?

For those of you saying you have the Dodge name plate on the grille...

1) What model do you have? (no clones...what is the true model of the car)
2) What color is the grille?
3) Are you the original owner?

Parts book shows Dodge name plate only on the WL and WH models; none for the Super Bee, 500 or R/T.

The parts diagram from the original parts manual shows the dodge badge in the grill regardless of model ...and I have a real r/t convertible with the badge in the grill ....I am the third owner father was the second owner since 1973

Hi Plowman
PM me a picture and price.
Thanks

Thanks. Can you post a picture of your parts book. By 'original' do you mean a first version 70 book or the revised 70/71 book? Mine is the revised one and I'd like to see if the first version was different.

Heres the diagram I have part number 16 is the dodge badge

That appears to have come from the collision parts book, not the parts manual. It will show all the parts that 'could' be there but not necessarily application. The parts book shows 2998060 goes on the WL and WH models. Unlike '69, I don't think there is a 1970 MY specific emblem for the Bee or R/T logo.

Again, what colors are the grilles that these Dodge emblems are showing up on SB,s 500's and R/Ts? Are the Grilles black or argent? Notice there are two separate grilles listed in the picture. The question comes up for these cars that have 'non standard' Dodge emblem applications.....were grilles removed from Coronet Deluxes and 440's to replace broken grilles in SBs and R/Ts? Did body shop repair guys add the emblem during a repair? Are there original pictures of the cars that show the emblem? Does anyone have original advertising pictures that show the Dodge grille emblem on a SB, 500 or R/T?
