Here's some pics of my first time covering a seat.

There really didn't seem to be any way to stretch them differently.

Some of the wrinkles are creases from where they were crammed in the shipping box.

Some are fitment.

Has anyone had these same wrinkles, and how well did they wear in and straighten out?

Thanks.

have tried to steam them

I would call Legendary and see if you can send them a photo and ask them how fix the problem. Curious, did you replace the padding before replacing the covers? If not maybe the padding is worn out also............if the padding is not sitting high enough there is not really much you can do except for replace the padding o maybe put another thin layer of padding over the old layer so the covers will stretch properly. Sometime a heat gun is used to make the material shrink a bit but be careful what you use for a heat source......."regular" heat guns get pretty hot.......maybe a hair dryer would be safer to use....go on the internet and search for how to take wrinkles out of new seat covers........

Try leaving them in the hot sun for several hours. Worked for me for some smaller creases in the past.

I'm sticking with this is your problem. Can you kinda grab it like grabbing the skin on the back of a dogs neck? If so, more padding.

No.

I had two rear seats to chose from, and chose he best top and the best bottom.
The foam was in great shape. both seats looked great with their old covers on, and one was almost mint.

I tried stretching different ways, and nothing helped. In fact, I couldn't get it to stretch much at all, even with professional listing wire pliers (4" duck bill with channels for the wire).

Like I said, most of the sharp wrinkles around the middle, were creases from packing.
Some of the softer ones around the buttons were also there before installation, and the ones on the sides are more of a fitment issue.

Last week was kinda cold for down here (60s), but this week is 80s in the early afternoon)
I'll drive it to work tomorrow and see what happens.

Agreed, My interior just got done by a local upholster, I have some wrinkles and all the guys at the shop say they will go away once it starts getting left out in the heat.

I had a few wrinkles in my Legendary covers for my Scamp's buckets. People told me the sun would take care of them, and it did. Hope it works out the same for you.

I had a local shop do mine, and they steamed the covers and installed them, then set them in the sun for two days, and they came out really good.

I am sure they will be even better once in the car and I can roll it out and let it heat up some more.

Thanks for all the replies.

It's encouraging to hear heat does help.

This is the second day driving to work, and sitting in the hot, unshaded parking lot.

The creases look a bit better, but nothing really on the wrinkles.

idrive- they seamed them before they put them on?

How much did that run?

I might try one of the buckets, and if it doesn't look any better....

Yes, they steamed the covers before putting on, so they were relaxed a bit. I spent a lot on my seats, as I had the frames rust proofed and repainted, then the upholstery shop did the installation of the covers, they made new foam for the rear seats, two layers, and also added jute pad between the springs and the foam on all of the seats, this will keep the springs from tearing up the foam. I used new seat buns on the lowers of the buckets, and used the original seatback foam on the buckets as the new foam did not have the headrest thick enough, but my bucket foam was/is still in really good condition for being 40 years old.

Here is what the underside of the rear seats look like.

One other thing, on the rears and the buckets as well, if there foam is not thick enough, that might be why you are having the issue with the wrinkles. On my rears, there is a 1/4 inch top layer, then the main foam 1 inch, then the 1/4 jute. This is also the reason I used my original bucket set back foam, because the new foam was not thick enough on the head rest and it looked funny and had wrinkles.

I have heard if a fine looking gal in a nitie sits on them the wrinkles will go away. Don't know for sure if it works, but worth a try.

Hey YY1, just drive it up here and I'll steam them for you. No charge.

Yep sit them in the sun light for a while.
I put the covers in the dryer for a bit before I put them on. Fit better and no wrinkles.

Ride up with wear? Reminds me of "Are you being served. When it is time I will get a person who has done it a thousand times and has it down.

Gotta use new foam I know some pros and guys that are real proficient maybe not. Did my front seats in my challenger with new foam no problem, did rear bottom with old foam "it looked great" got wrinkles in cover, had to get new foam and stuffing for rear back cause original stuff was gone, guess what no wrinkles. pulled bottom cover off, put on new foam and wrinkles gone, lesson learned
