A man and his dog.....It's just the good old fashioned simple things in life man :icon_thumright:

yeah me & the ol'dog have come along ways, I'm a simple man at heart, he's been with me for allot of the ups & downs, always loyal & happy to see me, goes with me everywhere... he deserved some kind of tribute, for when he's eventually long gone....

My uncle bought my 69 Sport Satellite new and always called her "The Mayflower" after the old Plymouth moniker. He sold the car to my older brother and I bought it from him when he went off to the navy in 77 and the name has never changed. My uncle unfortunately passed away a couple years ago and won't get to see her once I complete the restoration. It was the one car he wished he would never had gotten rid of. My brother died 10 years ago, so the car is very sentimental to me and the rest of my family.

Very cool!

My names Ryan, so people close to me call me ryguy. After an interesting night with a female the second part came along...

I've been waiting to find out that one. I thought it was some to do with outboard motors on a boat :)

Me too, I thought the same thing, many people probably do, until you see all his posts on the plane threads....

Mine is a shortened version of another user name from many moons ago and it came from the comic strip 'Crankshaft'.....but I think Cranky suits me better :D

I returned to college and took machine shop classes and was really into learning CNC machining , Fanuc is a type of control or language , haven't really found a job where I could practice or learn more about it so my name Fanuc Me is sort of out of frustration like "F#ck Me !"

I have a few handles : Mark8Denny - I have a Lincoln Mark VIII hot rod and I am on Markviii.org and Modularfords.com
I am on FABO , I have a 69 Barracuda , though I haven't been on there in a long while , over there I am Cudadenny
I used to run Mazak lathes that had the Fanuc memory bank back in the late 70's. Back then, they used a tape to program them and then you could put the tape away and if needed, you could change the offsets and make a new tape right there at the machine....and that happened every time a new program came down and most times, they were really big changes. Our programmer really sucked lol

Sonny says, "Now why would you want to know?".....:icon_cool::glasses7::glasses1::app:

fanuc, have you ever worked with the six axis machines, just when I thought I was decent with geometry they add 3 more axis. I was always going to bring a set of Harley heads to work and practice but never got time. if a guy had one in his shop he could do away with his Bridgeport.

When I bought my Coronet everything appeared new or rebuilt (as I was informed) and the body and paint looked great. But, after a while I found all the hidden "little things" that can and do go wrong. So, since I spend about half my time driving and half of it working on the car and I live in Oklahoma I thought about the name Stands With A Wrench (like Dances With Wolves) translated to themechanic.

Sometimes I think about changing it to SHOUTS WITH PROFANITY.

I also operated CNC lathes and mills for about 7 years after HS for a couple of oil field manufacturers. I was always the crash test dummy for the new program changes due to my cat-like reflexes. I was a nervous wreck until the new program was perfected. I'm glad those days are past.

Back in the mid 90's when I worked at Reider Racing building rear axles, there were 2 of us doing the building. I'm 6'6" and he was 5'8" so I was given the nickname BigBlock, and he became SmallBlock. Everyone uses the name bigblock so I had to differentiate myself. 6 people in my family with me being no 1. :)

Nice histories on these user names. Far more interesting and meaningful than mine. Mine simply dates back to the early days of semi-public access to the Internet.

Back when I first started "surfing" and researching on the 'net, we all used Unix machines, or dialed into them. Yes, I'm talking about "Text-based browsers" like "LYNC".

Back in the late '80's and early '90's, when you set up an account, the userid was traditionally your first initial and last name, but the caveat was that they generally had to be at least 6 characters. With a 4-letter last name, some sysadmin/root user added the trailing "1" to make it 6 characters and got me setup.

Well, fast forward a few years, and I had been working on a help desk (back when we really helped users, and did it stateside), but had moved on within the company. I emailed one of my old colleagues for some obscure file or some such, and he responded with "Do I really See Bunt one??? Long time no type..."

From that point forward, the "cbunt1" thing really stuck, and although it doesn't seem really unique, it has proven to be so over the years. I'm the same cbunt1 on all the forums I visit, and people from long-ago-past have been able to find me throughout the world like that (not always the best thing, but not a bad thing either).

So....when you "see bunt one" it's really me. That's all there is to it, nothing really meaningful, just an old inside joke!

Mine really simple. What I like/own and what I am. Thought about using my cb handle when I first signed up here (junkyard dog).

Mine is due to the color of my 68 Sport Satellite Hemi orange and my wife calls it the great pumpkin LOL so this is where I came up with PUNKN8R.

I brought my established reputation over from Moparts.
