I made an adapter for the end of my slide hammer to pull dents from body panels. Disclaimer for the pictures, did my best. I had the style hammer that you had to drill a hole in the panel, screw in a screw, pull the dent, remove the screw, weld the hole shut, you guys know what I mean. Then I bought the combo from Eastwood that had the slide hammer and adapter that fit on the end of the mig gun that held the stud in place while you tacked the stud in place. Couldn't get it to work, then the darn slide hammer would not catch the pin. That's another topic all together. I'll do my best to describe the following pictures: The four pieces are the cap, 3/8 pipe, nut and bolt. The bolt will be welded to my slide hammer. The nut will be welded to the pipe which in turn will screw onto the bolt/slide hammer. If you look close the pipe is notched to accept a 16b(penny) nail head. The cap will be welded to the pipe, I then drilled a hole in the center of the cap to accept the shank of a 10 or 12b nail. With a dremel tool I slotted the cap from the hole to the notch in the pipe. Once the nail is tacked to the body panel, slip the tool over the head of the nail and pull the dent. Remove the tool, cut off the nail and dress up the panel. The reason I used a 16b nail is for clearance for a smaller nail. I think we all have a bunch of nails laying around and the are more stronger than some of the pins I used from Eastwood. I'm pleased with the results, eliminated alot of cussin' trying to use the setup from Eastwood. Rick
