Herb's latest newsletter says they are going to sell re-popped hood inserts, affectionately known as "hockey stix". I called Herb's for more info and the guy told me they are not ready to sell them, yet due to a quality issue with the first production run. They scanned an original set and used a 3D printer to make the molds. The new ones are supposed to be oem correct. They will be chromed and painted like the originals.

I left my name and number for a price quote after the quality issues are resolved.

Funny I always heard they were called "bee wing " emblems. Because that's what they resemble, SUPER BEE!
Hockey stix were the stripes down the sides of a 'Cuda or something.

good to know. I hope they don't cost as much as the 68 R/T tail lights LOL

Did they tell you how much they are charging for them when they come up for sale?

Since they don't know how much they will be charging, yet, I left my name and numeber. See previous post.

I'm ready to buy and have sent a message.

I saw that in the newsletter and went to their website for the price. Those new parts are not listed on their website, yet. Let us know how much they are, please.

Other thread says $700. OMG.

I think I'll just polish mine. The pitting is there...but isn't $239USD bad.

I'm getting a pair. Brushed or chrome mechanic? I think brushed. Herb's says 229.

I got brushed as my original pieces are pitted to hell and back. I am having second thoughts and may also get the chrome inserts to compare ad return the one I do not use.

Bob at Herbs parts called and he quoted me an incorrect price for the inserts. They are $299.00 for a set.

For my car I'll get chrome. I think the 68 had brushed, though. $299 for something like that is not bad (though $239 was better) compared to NOS unobtanium hockey stix.

If they are pot metal they will bend. So, be careful installing them. Just snug the nuts.

Just got mine in the mail today and they look great. Time to install and sell my old pitted inserts.

They look powder coated silver and black in your photos. Does that brushed metal look like metal in person?
