I'm looking for options on where to get a fuel sending unit for my 77 Cordoba, as I think my float went bad last fall. I have found a couple but they only go to model year 76. Will the 76 one fit in my 77 or is there other sending units I can use? I have the larger single exhaust gas tank.

I bought a cheap $50 fuel sender off ebay that was listed for a 77 Cordoba. It worked but was off. My fuel gauge said empty but I still had 1/4 tank. Since I switched to dual exhaust and the tank was flaking off inside, I decided to change my tank (which was the same big size as yours) to a smaller Spectra 20 gallon one for a 74 Charger, which fits nicely. I bought a Spectra sending unit for the new tank.

You can get a new float and filter for the old one if you are having issues finding a replacement. Check all the wiring first to make sure its all connected properly. I thought my original one was broken, ordered the ebay one, and found one of the wires was broken.

The sending unit can easily be removed from the tank without removing the tank.

Aaaaaah - There is an outfit in eastern Canada that makes these units and has a sterling reputation. I just can't remember the name.......... Bummer. Maybe someone else will see this post and know who I'm talking about. Sorry

Spectra Premium, Boucherville, Quebec, Canada?
Would this be the one? http://www.spectrapremium.com/overview.html
Not much listed for a 77 Chrysler Cordoba.
Slepr1 did mention "Spectra" in earlier post but you, GetX'd may still be thinking about a different "outfit".

Thanks for the info and links. Does anybody have a link for the float. Last fall I watched my gas gage go from full to empty with a slow even sweep. That is why I feel it is a bad float.

www.vansauto.com (I'm sorry if the link doesn't work) has the float. They might have the FSU. They used to have it listed so I guess you could ask. www.laysons.com might have it. You will need to give them the part #. For 1976 the # is 3514446. I don't know if it is the same for 1977.
