bumpers

The AMD bumpers I have on my cuda are, at most, driver quality. They are shiny but are not a great chrome finish. Also, the AMD windshield I just installed had one small nick on one edge and a small blemish on the other.

Ditto here- I have one of AMD's front bumpers on my 69 Coronet.
Driver quality for sure-looks good from about 10 feet away, but get up close and you see tooling marks and so-so chrome plating all over it.
I'm hoping to find a nice original bumper someday down the road and swap it eventually.

I put AMD bumpers on mine a couple years ago. No show car here (still in primer actually) but after 30 years of pitted, speckled original chrome, I couldn't be happier. and they fit like a glove.

I believe that AMD is the only company that is making bumpers for these vintage cars.

Not bumpers but on the 68 charger front fenders I got from AMD the marker light holes are not centered on the crease. So I am not happy at all with them.

All this time I've been wondering how their fenders and such compared with their bumpers.
Now I know!
I guess if you're in a pinch with no other options then AMD is probably the only choice , but my guess would be to plan on reworking some of their stuff to make it fit and look halfway decent.

I was told they have since fixed the problem but the first few runs were off. I haven't tried to return them so that might be my bad. Just figured I could fix it. But kind of lame cutting on new high dollar fenders too. Like you said in a pinch at least you can get a fender. A few years ago you paid a lot for junk you had to repair to use.

Glad to hear about the quality of the bumpers though. As I have to very good cores. I will just get them re-chromed.

I bought and front bumper 2 years ago... It looks good and the plating job is nice as well. I did see some tooling marks around the mounting holes, but for a driver I have noissues

I didn't go with repops instead I had my re chromed by the bumperman here in Los Angeles. Turned out beautifully. Had to have the bumpers shipped down from Minnesota where the car is and had the bumpers done and tail pipes then shipped them back.

The AMD quarters I bought have required a lot of extra work to get them in top shape for painting. The ripples are hard to see until you've already put hours of sanding primer and more sanding. My painter called the ready to pull his hair out - fortunately he doesn't have any. A lot of extra work to get them to show quality. I'm not that happy with AMD overall.

got and installed a front bumper from AMD. Im happy with it. Its better than I expected. The issue I had was I contacted numerous chrome companies for an ruff estimate on the original. (not sure if it even is the original. No part number anywhere on the bumper.) Cheapest quote was 490$ highest was 1800$. Now these quotes were for a bumper with no rust dings or dents. that would be extra. The (original) had dings and dents. I paid 369$ for a new one and its a pretty damn good bumper.

I think mine was a blem.
I was originally going to return it but I would've had to pay a $60.00 return ship fee- that's where they get you.
So I said the hell with it and just put it on the car for now.

I sent my first bumper back because of grind marks under chrome. Second one was o.k.

Classic Industries has them~
