So I want my 1973 Charger to be reliable as possible and I really want to re-do the old crusty wiring with new wiring. So far I've looked a few, and it really doesn't matter to me if it's aftermarket. This one caught my eye because of the price and the abilities to add accessories: http://www.ebay.com/itm/21-Circuit-...-Hotrods-UNIVERSAL-X-long-Wires-/191403575953 But I am also considering the painless performance one because I have almost always heard good things about them. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/prf-10127/overview/year/1973/make/dodge/model/charger Thoughts?

That's the exact one I used to build my wife's car, not bad at all. Instructions are kind of cheesey but it does give the column conversion, as well as the diagram for the charging system for the big 3...
If you have a swap meet near you soon you can usually find that kit for $155, the mini fuse kits run around $165...

Thanks for your response! How difficult was the install?

Not difficult at all, all leads are pretty long and labeled well. Best recommendation I can make is if you do Not plan on completing it in a weekwnd, keep detailed notes/diagrams. Some of the circuits are not mentioned on the fuse panel (like the choke circuit) The carb I had at the time didnt have an electric choke but I had the wire there...purchased an elect choke and connected my wire and no workie a few months later...went to my notes and figured it out...
Lay it out on floor, separate into compartment bundles and go to town!!!
Good luck!

Alright I guess I'll have to place my order then.

Try Evans Wiring. They make stock reproduction harnesses for most Mopars. Very good quality. Only other option is to get a universal kit (for how many circuits you want) from places like Painless, etc.....

good luck

I order mine from year one for my 71 rt charger. I got new wiring bumper to bumper except for the power Windows. Was not to hard to install just time consuming. Hint take pictures also with your notes.

Looks a lot like mine as well? Like Mike67 said they can be had at swap meats for cheap which is where I bought mine. The kit I bought was labeled as Hot Rod something?????? I quickly found out it was actually an American Autowire kit re-labeled for a retailer and yes the instructions were very cheesy but a very nice kit non the less.
