I'm curious to know how many veterans are on FBBO.

Let's start this off by answering the following:

  • What branch?
  • How many years?
  • Job(s)
  • Duty assignments?
  • Favorite inter-branch joke or meme
Me:

I was in the Army for 10 years...I joined at the age of 17. My date of oath is Sept 26 2001.

I started out as a 12B (Combat Engineer)...I was 17 and it was not long after Sept 11th...the recruiter told me I was going to get to blow sh*t up...and I quickly said sign me up!

My first duty station was South Korea followed by Fort Hood, Texas...15 months in Iraq then Fort Belvoir, VA.

Between my Iraq deployment I switched over to a 12P which is a Prime Power Production Specialist and I got my Electrical Engineering degree.

Poor Choice for your first thread post. You obviously have low esteem for Air Force Marksmen. I hope you never tell a
"Gunny" to his face that he's just part of the Navy!! Would not go well for you I'm thinking. :usflag:

Is there a department of the marines? :poke:

whomever or what branch of service makes no difference to me. God Bless them all!

My point exactly Lew. I've lost good friends wearing many different uniforms. :usflag:

Jeez...Let's not get our undies in a wad here. I understand it's a new era but there is nothing wrong with inter-service rivalry or pride. I mean I thought that was only part of serving...I have tons of friends whom served in the Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard...Fire Department...Police...you name it...and when it comes down to it you have everyone's back...but I'm surprised that peoples first reaction to this is "ohh...you're bashing on the other branches?...that hurts my feeling"...

ok...sorry I shouldn't have brought it up. :)

@Gold Rush - If you are a Veteran I truly thank you for your service to our country and I apologize if I offended you by the meme I posted. It certainly was meant with the best of intentions.

I quit making fun of the AF when they medivacced my tore up *** out in real damn and quick hurry, while taking fire, door gunner was rocking!

Ya know, i spent about 7 years in the Air Force, (1973-1980) and i only fired the M-16 twice in all those years, during my enlistment.
Basic training, and one other time at a German rifle range, during my two year tour of duty, overseas.
So, i most likely never was a good shot, other than to satisfy the paper work, that i qualified. :usflag:

Lighten up on the PC, he’s just trying to have some fun. Perhaps we should just sit in a circle and talk about our feelings.

Nothing PC about it......
Perhaps YOU NEED a safe place?

I'm just telling it like it is.
If YOU have a problem with that, then I certainly give up.

If you think I'm being PC because I enlightened a fellow forum member that the Air Force is not a bunch of bumbling jerks that do not know how to use weapons:

Then YES, I personally take offense to that pic/post.
As many would.
I find it in BAD TASTE and I find it judgmental solely based on the OPs belief that the Air Force does not partake in a Combat mission.

For YOU to tell me to "Lighten Up on the PC..."
I suggest you read the definition of PC (Political Correctness)
I merely informed the OP of the AFs UBER Elite "TAC-P" Special Forces program.

Got it "dla4567"?

Can a moderator delete this thread? I really didn’t mean for this to become this serious. My dumb grunt *** needs to go to sensitivity training.

Joke away dude, joke away ..... we used to **** with the airforce guys all the time. Was too easy. I'm an ex navy jet engine mechanic, did a det to an airforce base in Oregon. We carried tool boxes, they drove their boxes to the flight line in baskets on bicycles. Was the funniest ****. My brother in-law is about to retire from the "chair force", he's a good dude. They do have a pretty wicked special force team. My uncle is retired army green beret, my neighbor is an active marine, a few coasty friends too. Still have a bunch of active Buddies ( still live in a military town) We all talk **** to each other, its what we do. Nothing personal, just jab after jab !

Marine Corps
Likewise- Quantico,Pendleton,SEAsia. ‘69-71. Got a cousin that was a pretty good shooter in first Gulf War, he was using a B-52 at the time(!), now he flys everyone around for Southwest Airlines.

Personally I think ‘lance’ is ok, but he better tone it down in a bar- ya just never know what’s sitting close to ya! Heck, the Corps is always outnumbered, so we just try harder.
