Hello all, just saying hi. I was looking for a classic American car with space for the family but didn't really know what I wanted. When a 69 Coronet appeared local to me I jumped at it and am now learning about what I've bought - yes, I know I got it all wrong.

I have a car that left the factory a 318 and is now a Super Bee 'tribute', having been fitted with a 383 with some performance parts on it, and other bits to bring it up to spec. Like any 50 year old car it's not perfect but I'm delighted to find parts seem easy to find!

I'm hoping to lean on the members of this forum to do some basic maintenance before making some sensible updates (overdrive, power disc brakes, and re-installing a/c are top of the list!)

I'm based in the south of England and am (A little nervously - it's my first proper classic!) Looking forward to playing with my new toy.

Cheers!

:welcome: from the foothills of NE Tennessee!

Very nice. Coronets are my fav.
As far as muscle cars go, you jumped straight to the top.
No other cars are as beautiful as 68-70 B-bodies. Just my opinion though.

Welcome from NW CT USA. Looks great - show us some more pics!

Welcome from central Illinois. Great looking car you have. Im sure you and your family will have a great time with it.

welcome to FBBO

Thanks all, I'm slowly learning about it - so much new to learn! I have another much more recent American car which I maintain and my first lesson in this car is that most of my spanners (wrenches) don't fit... The other lesson is that its been around for 50 years and so while its a great car because parts are available that doesn't mean that your car will have standard stuff on it! As expected my jobs to do list has changed, priorities now are (not urgent) but replace all fluids, tune it (starts hard, runs rich and runs on), tighten up the steering (as in there is play in it) and replace or recore the radiator, which is huge - 27" across the top!
