fuel vapor separator on 440 6pak?

The vapor separator is also your filter.
I red X'd that because it is A "filter" but not really THE filter. There is an inline metal cased barrel shaped filter that catches the finest particles. The "filter" in the vapor separator is more to keep out "chunks" vs fine debris IIRC.

So you're telling me there are TWO filters on Six Pack cars?
I think you're entitled to your opinion but don't state it as fact.

Sorry, not opinion, definitely a fact. There is a "screen filter" in the fuel vapor separator and an inline fine fuel filter as well.
I will post pics asap AND find the section(s) in my 1970 Chrysler Service Manuals.

Well....
There is ONLY the fuel vapor separator with the "screen" filter integrated into that unit from the factory, so there was no additional inline filter for the 6 bbl factory setup. Having said that, I just got off the phone with  Bob Karakashian aka "Mr. 6 pack" and he said that at one time Holley included the brass filters at the fuel line inlet on each carb, but discontinued them. He also emphasized that the return line orifice of the correct vapor separator should have the .060 metered orifice or too much fuel will flow through the return line, reducing the fuel pressure and volume to the carbs. He also said that running an inline fuel filter is ok, but there was not one from the factory.
Pix of my setup as it is now (like it was when I bought the car 4+ years ago) to follow.
Since my Promax upper and lower stainless braided fuel lines include a 40 micron inline reusable fuel filter, I will keep that and have the vapor separator/filter unit as well.

I applaud you for actually researching this and not simply stating your opinion and "running". Kudos! :drinks:

Mine has the fuel separator and the brass filters in each carb inlet.

I have both of these fuel line kits paid for, and I assume they will be shipped to me with my Promax carb parts installed and rebuilt and "pretuned" carbs, or I may ask them to ship them now and the carbs after they finish with them:

My understanding (thanks to forum members and a little common sense/intuition) is that the factory fuel supply line from the gas tank on 6 bbl and Hemi cars is already the larger 3/8ths vs 5/16ths line.
It's like this: I bought the "legendary" Carter M6903 mech fuel pump about 2 years ago from Mancini at their booth at the 'Nats. Haven't installed it yet. So I finally decided to move forward with installing that and figured I'd get all of the Promax goodies while I was working on the "fuel system", and I've wanted the Promax parts for a while now. Since I have no idea how old the fuel vapor separator/filter is, I got one of those from Mancini, and the 40 micron inline fuel filter on the stainless braided Promax 6 bbl upper and lower lines took care of the (secondary) filter.
So other than waiting to get the "performance" QuickFuel or Promax fuel bowls, which I may or may not get, I have all the good stuff about to go in.
While I am removing and installing the carbs, I also decided to see if the Nitrous Express 6 bbl plate system actually does fit the manifold, carbs, and carb bolt holes, so I have just the NX spray plate coming. Cheaper (or free) to ship back if it doesn't match up, and if it does (like they and Holley claim) well then I have my 2nd spray plate for when I go from the spray plate on the center carb only as the NX system is designed, to a spray plate on each outboard carb only (like the old discontinued NOS system that PurpleBeeper has). I plan to try 1 100hp center only shot, and then 2 50hp shots on the outboard carbs only, and see what happens. I may eventually wind up with all 3 carbs having spray plates, but that is way way way down the road.
I also like the AN fittings, the fuel pressure gauge (black arrow) and 40 micron inline reusable fuel filter (orange arrow)
