Snow!...Snow!!.....SNOWWWW!!!!

I fired up the generators yesterday, checked the cables and gas cans. All ready in case the power dies. We just got water to the barn this fall so that's a relief. Drip back system so it wont freeze. Inside the barn now.

-4 here this morning and sunny in central Minnesota and we did not get the snow. only about 4 inches on the ground. It does sound like a cold week with - 10 by Friday.

Haha.....speaking of snow, I just returned from 3 weeks in Russia, it snowed for all but 2 days, but it was fun as we were dressed for it, and Moscow really knows how to deal with it!

Looks like a fireplace insert?
I have one too, love it!
Yes, it's a Harmon Stove. made in Vermont. Has a 40lb hopper for pellets and a blower, temp, and auto / manual selectors. Set it and forget it. We have had it since 2013 and it was the newest model then.

This snow is piling up, but not for long. +42* Friday. Rivers and mud. Sigh.

We got hit again over night, about 8” total so far this weekend. 8 degrees right now so it’ll be all ice soon. This little AWD suv my wife has pulls right through this **** with no problem. My car on the other hand hasn’t moved since Friday..

Another nice stove. Looking cozy!

Love my Hearthstone soapstone wood stove. It is the primary heat source in my little 1300 sq.ft. post and beam Cape and keeps it extremely comfy in here no matter the outside temperature. I have to use the windows as my thermostat sometimes... It's getting worse here every minute. Up to 27 degrees but absolutely pouring now. Everything is freezing and the temp is supposed to bottom out tonight with -20 to -30 degree wind chill values by tomorrow morning. :bs:Can't wait...

Good for you, I was looking forward to all the snow yesterday but the temps stayed in the mid 30's.... rained all freaking day. We got maybe 4" overnight, pretty pathetic compared to what they were predicting but it's better than nothing.
Hit driveway twice yesterday(east of Akron), about 4” each time. Sunday AM another 6”.

Fellas, and Mistress LeAnna, it's days like today that make me glad to be retired. 2 feet of snow overnight. Geezzzz. Went out and fed the donkey butts, and sheep sheep, the chick-o-lickins have feed and water, the duck ducks are wallowing in their pool and the big dog had fun romping in the snow. Now it's breakfast in front of a roaring fire. Watching world from inside. How's your day going??
I’m with you, retirement is the best job I’ve ever had.

We got about a foot here ( just north of Akron OH) in the last 24 hours...spent the morning digging out...I'm ready for spring.

I was a bit off, more like 6" but with this bad boy snow isn't a problem! Thank goodness we have it because our driveway is really long and the Cruze only has about 5" of ground clearance. You can see the creek running through the bottom, that's the road halfway up the other hillside right at the treeline.

Scary 'chit huh? Our old log cabin is pretty snug, new metal roof keeps the snow from piling up and turning the place into a refrigerator. New windows are keeping the heat in nicely, need new doors next. drafty. yeah, i'm not liable to stray too far from this stove today until sundown when I have to venture back out to the barn...
I was born in Germany and came across the pond and landed in Canada. First 7 years of my life were spent there. I will NEVER forget the -45 degree days!! Makes where we live now in Missouri a simple walk in the park!!

Yesterday while we were getting rain our friend in Canton was sending pictures of their yard burried in 6", must have been just a few degrees warmer down here.

I'm not complaining by any stretch of the imagination, as this time last year (living just 3500 feet South of the edge of Georgian Bay) I had already run out of places to push snow! This year I'm so bored I'm plowing the runway for something to do, there's so little snow! (actually hoping the frost kills the foot long tubular twix stalks that pop up so I don't have to cut the grass so often!). Now I've probably jinxed myself...

And Then there was the ‘winter of 78’. Remember that one well!

Just a lot of rain here for a change. Melted all the snow we got last week. I'm at 5100 ft so the Sierras are getting a bunch. Donner Pass is a nightmare heading in both directions on I 80. We need the moisture so it is doing some good even here in the Upper Great Basin. When we do get snow, it is wet and heavy but begins to melt almost immediately. Just hunkering down today even though I have to go the the grocery for a few things for Sunday's supper. Ham Potato, and Corn Chowder with Buttermilk Cornbread. Warms up the ol' heart anytime. Cheers ya'll and I ain't watching any TV other than movies today cause I don't give a Rat's Patooty about football or the NFL...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:
