From personal use, who makes the best fitting, most accurate Torsion Cross bar for the 69 RR? I am leaning towards AMD, but want to hear opinions. The criticality of this frame piece is what is driving me to ask the question.

Thanks Guys,

There are plenty of good originals for sale out there.

Find an original. Check with moparmarks on here or put an ad in the wanted section.

AMD fit nicely and no issues on assembly when putting in the torsion bars... reinforce the sockets while you're in there!

Your pictures look exactly like what I am doing now!! Thanks for the awesome re-enforcement tip, I will do that. Its hard to tell, did you use 26Ga steel for that small plate or something thicker? I will probably use something closer to 12 GA. I was afraid to dump that much heat on the socket, but based on your pic of the center weld, it appears to be a large enough heat sink to take it.

I am glad I am not the only one crazy enough to change that crossmember. LOL

It's either a 3/32" or 1/8" thick plate... been 2+ years!

Nothing crazy about changing out a rotted crossmember, it does hold the nose of your car up!
