Adding more positive caster angle is better, we all know that. How to do it is the hard part. So what would be the downside of shimming the rear two mounts on the K-frame? Lowering the rear of the K-frame maybe 3/16" of an inch will add positive caster, or will it not?

Paul, don't want to burst you bubble but you open up a can of worms doing that. Will it help caster?Very doubtful. The axis point of the upper ball joint,3/16 at the rear of the K will have very little affect. The problem is shimming the K will cause pinion angles to change.Next it "could" cause steering shaft binding.Don't forget to look at fan to radiator clearance. Just a thought.

NO you won’t gain any caster. Caster is the angle of the ball joints to each other. Upper ball joint behind the lower creates positive caster. So moving the K member down won’t do it. You would need to move it forward.

Just get offset upper control arm bushings to get more caster.

Or if you don't have to be "correct" after market upper control arms are reasonable, strong already have new bushings, ball joints, and depending on brand will give you that additional caster/camber that you want. They also look "cool" .:steering:

Check with Firm Feel, they have a kit for that
