Hey guy's, I bought a carb. rebuild kit for Edelbrock carbs a couple weeks ago and the accelerator pump rubber cup is black and not red that came with the kit. Is there any differences in these two and if so what is the black cup for? Thanks, Dave

Well I called Ededbrock tech and he knows nothing about the black cup he only knows their kits don't come with the pumps. I do know that this kit is more hi performance than the stock kits are and it came with a stiffer pump spring also the pump has a stiffer spring on it to allow for a faster shot of fuel thru the squirters than the factory set up. Which nowadays wouldn't hurt to try it out in your edelbrock carburetor.

This is the kit I bought, it had no box and no instructions, not that I need it for these carburetors know them like the back
of my hand!

Ethanol resistant must be the black accelerator pump. Didn't know they had that kit or that color pump. Should be ok.

I've bought the Eldebrock kits, Advance Auto even keeps them in stock, and they have a blue pump. I rebuilt two 600s and I didn't even get 50 miles out of them before they stopped working. And I was useing non-ethanol fuel.

So discussing it on here, I believe it was DVW, stated to use the orange 1467 pumps. Installed them, been useing 92 oct. 10% ethanol and over a thousand miles later no problems. I do use the Stabil 360 each fill up just for piece of mind. I'll run it almost empty in the fall and fill it up with non-ethanol for the winter hibernation.

Let us know how they work out for you :moparsmiley:

Ethanol compliant rubber can be made in any color, most of these kits being sold are ethanol compliant, but not sure they are manufactured by Edelbrock. Lots of aftermarket companies making kits.
