Bullitt

Hopefully the new owner doesn’t give it the obligatory over restoration.

The cool part of the car is that it is a survivor and has remained fairly unmolested so far

The money spent for it is relative to the folks who play in that arena.

It’s all relative.

Folks with less money than most who post here would consider 25,000 spent on a driver quality b body stupid.

I agree, it would be a huge mistake to cosmetically restore the car. I believe the mechanicals are squared away now, so just keep it the way it is. If you have $3.4M for this car, you got another $70k somewhere to own a nut and bolt restored, highland green, 68 Mustang GT390 fastback.

Yep, do not mess with the car. Keep as original as possible. As for me, I would prefer the Charger. Interesting fact is that the two guys in the Charger were really stunt car drivers. One of the few movies that those guys were upgraded to actors.

Can't imagine it going anywhere but a car museum. It could be a draw for some people. Why would you by it and restore it, it's just a '68 Mustang then, now it's an icon to the movie and McQ. Some people eat that up, I don't get it. I'd like a '68 Mustang fastback myself.

Yeah but look at it this way; 3.4 million to the guy who bought is is probably equal to 5 grand to us.
very true. probably didn't even blink an eye . it's possible he may have paid another 1 or 2 mil had someone kept running him up. you only live once. If I had that kind of money to buy toys with, I might find myself doing the same thing lol

So when are they delivering it RC?

No way that car gets any restoration. Maintain it as is. That is not a driver or even show car. It is a one of one piece of automotive art.

The driver of the Mustang was a stunt driver too! They got McQueen out very quickly, he nearly wreck it at the start. He didn't drive it much at all.

I'm not big on the "added value" thing...
I know a lot of people are.
Still, a Hemi Cuda has the Bullit Mustang beat by about 200k for the most expensive muscle car sold. $3.74M

Maybe Don Johnson has more street cred than McQueen! Lol!

 "sold out" of the $12 2-pin pack
"sold out" of the hideous $26 mesh hat
I think mesh hats like that are about $3 each in bulk.
