Maid of the Mist

That’s awesome Steve!
True professionals
Every one of them is drug and alcohol screened. All the welders, riggers are certified
Jobs like this are big money and huge liabilities. Those boats are subject to big undercurrents and stress's, the assembly has to be done a hundred percent correct. Contractors who win the bids cannot be fooling around with who they hire, so they use union Boilermakers because they know these guys are on top of their game and they produce and do it safely. If you noticed it was said the U.S Coast Guard was on site, they are constantly inspecting the work. It wasn't mentioned but id think the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) was also involved. When I was employed both of those groups were always inspecting our work and the ABS was the ones who administered welding tests. While I never qualified for aluminum MIG, I did hold a ticket for unlimited hull work, probably the hardest welding test I ever took.

Very nice looking boats. I have been on the older ones and you certainly do get "misted".

Great job. Thank you union workers.

If you have never been on the Maid of the Mist, put it on your bucket list.

Very nice. Thanks for posting that! I've worked with a few guys from 193 here in Baltimore.

Very cool. Its great to see professionals getting recognition. I have worked around a few boilermakers. All seemed to be good hands. All commercial construction Union trades here have random drug tests. It makes a safer work site.

Thanks Steve, I can't wait till summer to try out the new boats. It's an amazing view of the falls. I drive past sometimes and barely glance over at it. How foolish we become when we have a natural wonder in our backyard and not enjoy it. It is truly an incredible site, especially in the winter when the lights are on and the mist crystallizes in the air, in different colors. It just sparkles and falls continuously.
