Dennis fell in love with my 500 Coronet at a show in January... it aired today. Starts at 10:40

Nice car I really like the styling of the 1968 Dodge. That was ideally the car I wanted but they are quite hard to find.

Very cool Jim - your car looks awesome!

Well done!

Hawk

She's a beauty, Jim!! I love the 68's... that's why I bought one. Mine will be dressed in Burgundy Metallic in about a month or so. Gorgeous car - nice job!

im not sure which part i like better,
how nice your car is,or the amazing fact that you kept it a 318 car.
love the paint color and black contrasts as well.

Ok, I just re-watched it... interesting: mine was originally white with a 318 also.

I don't get it, everyone dogs on the 318 but with the same work you would put into a 440 it does _everything_ I would ever want to do with the car. I am not a racer, I don't want to do burn outs, I just want to ride around in the comfort of factory AC and go to car shows. It does all that and more with ease.

my 3rd car in life,was..get this..
a general lee clone..with a 318 built up...
i paid 3500 bucks for it,which was a Lot back in the early 80-s.
that car,and my right foot and extreme lack of driving skills,
got me in more trouble in 5 days then stealing the crown diamonds would have.
my seargant ended up making me Take the car Back to the seller and giving it back to him..
true story..thats how i ended up buying the 340 duster next lol.

so i agree,a small block can put a smile on your face too,
esp when you drive past all the big block guys filling up at the station.
its even better now that we can retro the 318/360 magnum motors out of the trucks.

Agreed. I had a 340 in my 69 Charger and it would lay rubber down the street with no problem... so when I found my 318 Coronet, I dropped a 340 into it also.

I saw the episode this Sat. Am
on MotorTrend TV, My Classic Car

nice appearing orange & black striped/black top Coronet 500 too

Jim, I have always loved your car. It was great to see it in that clip, congratulations on that. I also notice you rebuilt your original AC compressor. Everybody always says you need to go with modern blah, blah, blah. I want to keep my original one and rebuild it too. Does it perform well in the hot Arizona summer and where did you buy the components to rebuild it?

Thanks

Jase
