Who has recently purchased a speedometer cable, where from and did that cure your bouncy speedometer? Thanks!

Pull the center out of the cable. Clean it, grease it lightly and reinstall. Put a little grease on the end of the speedo head where the cable goes. This should cure the problem.

Yes I thought about doing that as well. I guess the grease has become harder causing the cable to not turn as easy.

Don't be surprised when greasing or replacing the cable didn't help. More often the speedo head gets dried out causing the noise and bounce.

Does anyone know where I can find a diagram that shows how the speedometer cable should route from back of the dash to the tranny. I have a 1970 440 GTX 4spd.

Anybody know where I can get a speedometer cable for a 65 Coronet with manual transmission? Thanks folks!

The IPB or body manual should have that on My mopar.

I had one made by speedometer USA in Denver Colorado. whatever fittings or length you need, they can do it

Joe Suchy has them. I paid $130 plus shipping for the last one one that I bought from him.
Hi MCODECUDA
I contacted Joe Suchy and he helped me get the correct cable (Thanks Joe!).
I got the cable installed at the speedo end with some help from my handy borescope and patience .
