Anyone know what these holes are for? Top of trans tunnel just behind center console. Thanks.

They look like the holes for the weight that was put in the car when new. I just removed one from my 71 Charger not long ago. I am told it was put into the car to "dampen" vibrations in an attempt to make the car smoother, essentially a tuning fork type deal.

Interesting. I've owned this car since 79'. My brother bought it used in 76'. I know I didn't remove anything like that nor him either. Thanks for the reply and the picture.

The part might not have been installed in your car for various reasons. BTW, your work looks good!!

Thanks. Yea... few weird thing about this car. Came with 73' strobe stripes and had a center console for a 4 speed car. I guess they did whatever they felt like doing on the assembly line. lol....

My 71 has one but my 74 did not come with one, the holes are just covered with seam sealer.

That's likely the case. The car was dipped so all the sealer was removed. I wouldn't have known there were holes there. Thanks
