Okay guys, borrowed this from my neighbor to try my luck at making some dents a bit less. I tried on a motorcycle gas tank as well as a late model car, a 2004 with fairly thin sheet metal. With both, the glue would pull loose bout a soon enough pressure was applied to get the metal flexing out, and break loose. Learned if you waited a bit before pulling the glue off the pulling stoppers, it would take a massive effort to get it off. Could the glue I used be incorrect, too old ? I would think they work better than this one. thanks

You really should wear pants when working on your car.
Local laws may be in conflict with your plans to work in just your underwear.

I got the sharp dent mostly out of the hood of the '64 with one... last pull pulled the paint!

I used one last summer. It took a few pulls; every time it popped off, it was a little bit closer to where I wanted it.

I had ok results. Make sure the hot glue has cooled before pulling. It has its limits. It's good for dents that are smooth without a hard crease.
Just my experience.

Clean the paint with denatured alcohol to remove all of the wax off so the glue sticks and you're going to need a nice
LED light to see what you're progressing. They're pretty cheap on flea-bay. And a suction cup mount. Not too bad once
you get the hang of it.

and if your car has been bodyworked/repainted....... you're at the mercy of adhesion between layers

I bought an El cheapo from Harbor Freight and the kit had a release agent like acetone included in the kit. Wipe the area with a denatured alcohol. Apply the glue to the plastic piece and stick it on the area you want to pull. Hold in place until it cools. Attach the tool and apply the pressure you want. If it pops off before the dent is out do it again. If the dent comes out flush remove the tool and apply a little acetone around the glued on plastic piece. It should let go quickly. The acetone is used to remove the old glue from the plastic piece also.

Like stated, if it's a repaint it could remove paint or the acetone could lift/wrinkle the paint.

I'd have the dent fixed and the panel painted before you guys get home from Harbor Freight

isopropyl alcohol.. don't you dare put acetone on your paint job!

You made me go out and look...

Hey there's nothing wrong with HF if you're in a pinch and can't afford a good body man :)
