Where's Waldo (or the MP B/RB single bolt timing gear set)?

I just unearthed a new Mopar Performance single bolt roller chain & sprocket set (P4120264) in perfect condition except for the 20-year collection of dust on the outside of the package. I went to check on what this was selling for and I can't find it. An interweb search turns up a couple references in engine builds but nobody (Summit, Jegs, etc.) has this for sale any longer. What's up with that?

Ok. I knew some of it went away but not all of it - but you're probably right. I looked at "The Official Mopar Parts" site and their parts search by model year doesn't start until 1984. Now I really feel old...
 
mancini use to carry them ,thats here i got the last couple i bought (years ago) .

I hear ya. I just checked and Mancini only has MRE, Comp & an Edelbrock. I'm guessing everything is going toward the Gen III stuff.
 
Also alot of "authorised" is made in China now.

Newer, better products came out. Instead of drilling a hole and using offset bushings to degree a cam, you just turn the crank gear to a different notch. Much easier. FYI - I’m running one of those Direct Connection Stimming chains now

I agree. The original MP/DC stuff was top of the line for a long while - probably not as much now most of it is offshore as HALIFAXHOPS noted.

Easier yes, but better, maybe not depending on where you get it. A nine-way crank sprocket isn't better if it is made from crap metal (Chineseium) that will cause a timing issue down the road (literally). I was raised on the MP/DC stuff and will take those old NOS parts before considering Brand X offerings. I will say some of the top of the line (i.e. spendy) timing chain & gear sets have a fairly good reputation but my pockets aren't deep enough these days. I'd really like to find a 3-bolt cam sprocket for the above chain & crank sprocket. Maybe a want ad when I get closer to needing it?
 
So I thought about doing a wanted ad for a MP 3-bolt cam gear but realized that probably wouldn't get me what I wanted. A new idea has taken hold - having the 1-bolt sprocket drilled for a 3-bolt cam. Is this feasible or are there things preventing a skilled machinist from drilling those holes? The last resort is to sell this one and buy a Brand X 3-bolt set. Any experience of which ones to concider/avoid?
 
Take a look at Summit for high end billet timing sets if you're worried about quality.

Thank you. I'm building a parts order with them as we speak and will add a timing chain set. I really don't think I'll need a 9-way crank sprocket but it might be good to have one of them "just in case."
 
You may want to make sure you can get the cam you need first. I had a tough time finding a 3 bolt cam on the shelf.

Thank you. I have a cam in hand. Just gathering the final pieces to build the engine when it comes back from the machine shop.
