just saw this tonite, not sure if its been shared here or not.

we have the same problems with the amc side channel/floor rot,the amc guys are insane, those are unibodies and they think anything with a v8 is worth 20-30 grand with holes in the frame rails.

I'm amazed Bob blind bid that high.. lol. Thank god someone went $140. Car will need that much again to make right..

Nice video. "You GOT to physically inspect these cars". I've preached that for decades.

Parts car

They used to say "Drive it til the wheels fall off". That one is Drive it til the frame rails snap, and your drivetrain is tied in a knot!!

Well i think you could do some rust repair and keep driving it BUT what you should be doing (obviously) is taking it completely apart and restoring it properly.

I personally wouldn't want to bid on this because i do not want the headache. It would have to be really cheap especially since it does not have a hemi which IMHO is another issue on top of all the others. :D

That's too bad. An iconic Mopar that's in sad shape. I've gone and looked a few lemons in the past myself.

I don't think it is a basket case, but it sure needs some work. The frame rails and cross member rot doesn't scare me as bad as what's hidden below the paint. To do it right, it would need to come completely apart to fix.

I'm pretty sure it will come completely apart quite easily.:p

BTW, since day one, I have always loved the Mopar winged aero cars, as well as the 1969 Charger 500. I was definitely in the minority back in the day.

if i recall, with premiums and fees, that car cost the buyer 196 thousand dollars all in......so yes id wager bob almost cried with joy when someone outbid him lol.
i was blown away by how casual he was about the money too,yet didnt wanna lose 3 grand for internet fees.
bids over a 100g blindly lol.
rich people be crazy :)

Got to give Ol' Bob credit. He was able to procure that red Daytona with the trannie issue and remains tight-lipped about it to this day.
