Turbine Bronze 67 GTX HEMI 4 Speed

Not really a bracket but a flat piece that screws with the heater coming thru it....

Starting to make progress. However ran into some challenges.

These heater core inlets don't look right after getting the heater box in. Not sure if I did something wrong or what but I imagine they are supposed to stick out evenly and further.

The aftermarket replacement heater cores have shorter tubes that barely protrude through the firewall... Yours look better than mine did... Mine both tubes had less than 1/2" protruding.... I found the tubes are exactly the same size as 1/2" household plumbing copper so I cut the tubes right even with the fiberglass heater box & spliced in 1" of pipe.... four slip couplers, a couple inches of copper pipe & fifteen minutes soldering now the nipples stick out like they should...

The heater core tubes look fine, but what's that hole in the firewall above the horizontal portion of the brake line?

Yeah I know. That hole should not be there. Should have gotten welded up but it didn't. I am just going to put a plug in it. I'll be honest was pretty bummed about it.

put a factory plug and most people won't know.

Agreed. It'll be barely seen, if at all, behind the Hemi.

Other than that ordered another front brake line for the fire wall as this plus the ones to the master cylinder just do not seem right. The master cylinder ones are very short from the prop valve.

Need to add the other piece on the frame for the disc / drum rear.

They make 2 different firewall lines and kits. You have the flat one but need the 'rounded' or 'curved' line kit. Mine used the straight one.

Thank you. I did order that one and hopefully will have it soon. Planning on putting the hemi and k member in at the end of the month.

I had my hemi built by Ray Barton since the original was long gone.
They had me buy the Aeromotive tank with the efi pump built in. I got it installed today with the hoses to the fill.

However I noticed my fill has a big kink in it. I think I need to bend it back. Curious if anyone has pictures of what it is supposed to look like. Also if there are any tricks to stick something down the tube to straighten it out.

The other part is where to mount the fuel pressure regulator. Anyone have good spots they have put theirs? I want to try to keep it out of the engine bay.

This is the original fill line in my 67 Satellite - no kink.

That small line is the vent tube. Not sure the kink will hurt as long as the tube is open to ambient unless EFI has other requirements. No idea if it can be straightened. I have 1 or 2 spare filler tubes - need to check their condition. PM me if you are interested in an OEM replacement and I'll dig them out.

Been a while since see updates. Kids baseball season was in full swing the last few months. Also I have been waiting about 2 months for the right brake line that goes from driver side to passenger.

However I have a question on the exhaust. Being I bought the car in parts I wanted to get some ideas before I modify anything.

I have the full accurate exhaust the tail pipes are 2.25 my exhaust tips are 2.25 so they don't slip over one another. I can't seem to find 2.5 exhaust tips. I was thinking I could trim the tailpipe and then use a 2.25-2.25 connector.

Am I missing a part or something? If I were to do the connector I imagine I would need to shorten the tailpipe.

If anyone has decent photos I would appreciate it. I want to make sure I don't get it in the wrong spot or trim the tailpipe and then realize I need it longer.

My gas tank is the automotive one which has the electric pump in it. I need to get the exhaust installed / mocked up before I run the lines and mount the regulator. I want to mount the regulator in the back so it still looks stock up front.

Thanks I'm advance. Hopefully will get more progress on this thing soon

Any decent exhaust shop will have a hyd exhaust pipe expander

Take them the tail pipes and tips and let them fit them

So we have 2 members doing turbine bronze 1967 Hemi GTXs
Both white interiors

one 4spd
one column auto

I don't have good pics of mine handy, but I had an exhaust shop install the tips because my mail order tail pipes didn't line up with the tip mount points correctly. They adjusted the whole exhaust system then cut and rewelded the pipes behind the axle to correct their alignment before installing the tips. There are pipe clamps on the tail pipe to tip joints and I am pretty sure they expanded the end of the pipes to fit over the tips.

I have SS 2-1/2” tips on my GTX but I don’t think that is what you need. They will be too large to secure to 2-1/4” tailpipes. And I have 2-1/2” TTI tailpipes. I think having a muffler shop expand the tailpipe for a slip fit is what needs to be done. I’m surprised Accurate didn’t do it already.

What 69/70 GTX said - they should be able to expand or make it smaller - I have a cone shaped wedge to do it with a hammer that I bought - turn it around and you can make the pipe smaller - just takes a few wacks with the BFH.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'll go find a muffler shop and see if I can get them to expand it. I'll be honest I didn't even think of that for some reason.
