I Always wanted the 1969 Dodge Charger since I was 8 years old. I finally got one at 52 years old. Unfortunately, It's more rust than car and the engine is an unknown 1978 engine 440 and doesn't seem to fit quite right in the 318 car that this was originally. I am a shade tree mechanic at best doing brakes on hyundais and nissans; oil changes and such. I did a motor swap once on a 2005 Monte Carlo with a lot of help from a friend. I don't know much about Mopars but I do know that what I don't know is enough to fill the oceans. I am hoping to find help here with what experts may call 'simple stuff.' So What I have is a basic model 318 1969 Dodge Charger that someone shoved a 440 with a 4 speed into. I know nothing of bore, stroke, heads, valves, cam, build sheet? I got no details from the seller. It was "here it is" and I bought it. All of the exhaust rotted away so what's left of the exhaust manifold pipes end directly under the rusted out floor boards. Sitting in this car with the windows rolled up would be a very bad idea. There is a long story of how the two very short lived previous owners deemed it uneconomical to repair. Thanks in advance for your support and kindness. I'll answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thanks again.

From your 1st post without pictures it sounded like it looked like this...

Thanks for the pictures, is it running ?

Welcome, the charger doesn't look to bad. Projects have to start some where.

Well that doesn’t look too bad. Especially if you got it for dirt cheap. Good news is you are in the right place for help. Also everything on that car can be repaired or replaced.

Welcome aboard neighbor. Amongst the 2nd gen Charger project offerings, that car is a cream puff.
