I guess that's because nobody overhere matters about the flag. They see the car just as a cool car that is remembered from the childhood. But again, it's a guess.
I continue to like General Lee's, they are cool. I actually worked on John's (Bo Dukes) #4 General Lee with the 511 Hemi. My shop found an intermittent miss on #7 cylinder and reworked the rear brakes with disc brakes from a Viper, as well as replacing the Bendix booster and eliminating the vacuum pump that was covering up the weak booster.

That's cool, I liked "Bo's General Lee"

John is a great guy, I met him in 2013 and 2017. In 2013 he was in Germany at a Comic Con. He drove my General Lee from his hotel to the Comic Con, me riding shotgun. I can say I have the only GL replica in Europa that has been driven by the original Bo Duke.
