2025 16th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - Are You Ready?

Would you mind if I got in on some mid season fun? It'd give me a chance to learn to play, plus prepare me for next season.

@Pecos Bill, glad to have you! The more the merrier.
Review the game rules in post #1 and post your picks.
Your qualifying pick needs to be posted before qualifying starts and your race picks need to be posted before the green flag flies on raceday.
Have fun and good luck!

Congratulations to '44070dart' (FABO), new player 'Pecos Bill' (FBBO), 'Sublime one' (FABO) and 'Unconventionaal' (FABO) for correctly picking #22 Joey Logano to win the Atlanta Pole and lead the field to the green flag tomorrow. They each picked up -1 bonus point.
In fact, both #21 Josh Berry and #22 Joey Logano tied with the exact same time but Logano was awarded the Pole due to a tiebreaker rule.

@Pecos Bill, before posting the results of the Quaker State 400 I want to let you know that in previous years NASCAR "Pick 'Em" games any players joining the game during the season started with a point total as if they had finished last in all previous races from that season. I haven't been able to come up with anything more fair that that.

Well, that was a wild race that was sure to ruin almost all of the NASCAR "In-Season Challenge Brackets"! There can't be many entrants with a correct bracket left after the initial race.

In our little game we had a
Another 'blind squirrel' moment as 'ocdart' (FABO) was the only player grab the
-5 bonus points for picking the Quaker State 400 race winner (survivor?), #9 Chase Elliott.
Nobody picked the race runner-up, #6 Brad Keselowski, so no
-3 bonus points awarded.

'ocdart' (FABO) had the low net score honor for the week with 14.5 points.

#2 Austin Cindric was the race leader at the end of Stage 1, #6 Brad Keselowski was in 2nd place.
#45 Tyler Reddick was the race leader at the end of Stage 2, #9 Chase Elliott was in 2nd place.

New players joining during the season start with a point total as if their picks had finished last in all previous races during the season.

As a reminder here's a quick explanation of what the above numbers represent:

I just read that there have been three racing-associated deaths during the current 2025 NASCAR cup season. I don't remember any mention of them during the television broadcasts.

The first was at Talladega in April when a bird came out on the losing end to the windshield of the #21 Ford driven by Josh Berry...and no windshield wiper since this was not a road course race.
A few weeks ago at Michigan a squirrel made an ill-advised try to cross in front of Ty Dillon's #10 Chevrolet.
And then just last Sunday at Sonoma a rabbit decided to test it's speed against the #7 Chevrolet of Justin Haley...and lost.

'Mother Nature' wins the Pole at Dover after both practice and qualifying is rained out.
T
he start of the Auto Trader Echo Park Automotive 400 should be interesting because in addition to no practice and no qualifying, the drivers will also be on a brand new tire they haven't raced on before.
On top of all of that, #88 Shane van Gisbergen will be starting on the outside of Row 3 and he's never turned a tire in competition at Dover.
