I found 1 broken zigzag spring in my seat base.
Anyone have a spare? Or should I just try to rig something.

Thanks

Which one do you need?

Damn! You got a complete core! I'll get the cover off it tomorrow and we can compare!

Thanks!

Well....it is literally 112 degrees F in my garage...118 outside.....
I'll hit it earlier tomorrow AM.

Ok...finally...so driver side second top side spring

And also driver side...where the edge wire connects to all the top side springs...does this look odd? Or should I just figure a way to reattach somehow...

Maybe braise it and connect it to the clamp that is just beyond its reach

I’ll take a closer look tomorrow. I think the springs on the left and right are the same and the middle ones are different. Blow the picture up and draw me an arrow pointing to the ones you need.

I think you are right...all the top springs are identical...so..any 2 of those would be great.

Can you take a photo of both sides of the wire that makes the "upper/outer edge" of the cushion (like my 3rd photo)....and how it attaches to the framework? I think thar may also be snapped.

Might need the yellow also...but I need to see how it's attached or if it is attached to the framework or if it is seperate.

The outer band is attached by ( I’m going to call them barrels ). They wrap over the spring and the outer band and squeeze shut with pliers. I will be happy to send you a couple of springs. Send me a private message with your mailing info and a cell# if you don’t mind. If I text you the photos they will be a lot clearer for your viewing.

I can send some of the barrels along with the spring’s. The wire may poke through your upholstery.

I was thinking of wrapping around the back end of it around the frame, then open the current barrel to pass through to a place to secure it...and wrap it in a moving blanket scrap.

I dunno...This is my first attempt at interior upholstory.
I'm just looking for function over form.

Lol..this build has been dubbed "the second hand".....almost everything I have for it is used!.
The upholstery I have is from Ledgendary, but when it was less than 6 months old...a new buyer of a different car wanted white instead of black. So I got the black seat covers/door cards etc for next to nothing!.
The engine (1968 383) was rebuilt 25 years ago...wrapped in cosmoline and plastic bagged...sat under a workbench in a Phoenix Az garage of a gentleman who passed away...his wife advertised it as free scrap metal...I brought a boroscope with me...and gave her a few hundred bucks for it.

So it's like that! On a budget...but coming together.
