Will Nissan survive?

Bought a 2000 Frontier w/22k miles from a private party in 2002. Still have it today and have not had any problems with it.

Yeah.. i only hear good things and that they will do 200k on oil changes pretty much... so that one i linked has at last 250miles on it as of 6 months ago... so top dollar, options i don't want.. and not very new.. think it's a pass.

the one i want pretty much doesn't exist, they either have the pro premium package, or bare bones.. the convenience package is the only one that makes sense and cant find one. it's got the spray bedliner, towing.. and heated seats/wheel.. pretty much all i want

This is the one i'm looking at.... paying bout sticker though if i get it :( which makes me sad....

Well, they know what you want isn't readily available so the price is jacked up.....not easy to play hard to get when you want something.....that's hard to get. Been there done that and usually didn't get what I wanted. At least not totally. Not that many want a 'rain roof' though and the dealers know that.

They will 'go' 200k with regular oil changes lol
Obviously that's a small percentage if even real... But i bet they will make it farther than 31k... really made at my jeep...

Soo.. trying to buy a new car sucks balls.. this whole exercise in futility has me not wanting to buy anything... last time i bought a new car.. "It's not on out lot, lemme check other dealers" 20 mins later.. found one.. will be here in a few days..

Now it's.. oh come down and talk to us.. but you don't have what i want.. ok.. so come down and talk... no.. **** off...

I went and hunted down the one i want and it's still being a pain in the balls.

Not in a good mood for something that should have been pretty easy and enjoyable(ish)

I found the exact one i want in cincinnati.. and one about 90 mins away that is close...

Heres a WTF thing... they force you to take a $90 "Usb charging kit"

It's literally 4 $2 cables....

31k out of the Jeep that's pretty horrific.

yeah, i actually like the 3.6l.. but this is crazy.. it really sounds like something is coming apart in it.. i am afraid to drive to work, i just wanna carvana it but it's my only ride right now. hoping it lives a bit

Do NOT buy a Rogue. They are chock full of stupid crap.
A/T shifter that was not intuitive to operate.
The lack of knobs for the HVAC system is crap.
A car that automatically UNlocks as you approach it is stupid. What if some attacker were hiding and wanted to JACK the car? Now he has a way in.
Nanny state traction control had the car surging and wandering the lanes even in light rain.
Transmission was slippy/sloppy.
Dash and steering column were crowded with too much unneeded crap.

Coworkers brother-in-law is a sales manager for Nissan. He bought a truck(not full size), 4xpro or something, said it was 52K with a discount! He carries a jumper box because it won't start in the winter sometimes. They can't figure it out. His wife's Rouge, no issues except 20k for breaks and rotors. He's not sure if it the vehicle or his wife. He's gotten goose at changing them i guess.

Draining power somewhere.. seems they could find that. i had to put rear pads in my cherokee at 29k.. fronts are fine..

Pull the filter and have a look. They're cheap and it's easy. I had a wrangler in and the filter looked like Christmas

Changed the oil last week.. zero glitter.. new air filter/cabin filter to, it's my fault for taking care of it :)

(really hate a sun roof.. it's just asking for problems)
I had to special order my 2020 Ram. I absolutely did not want a sun roof for the same reason. Also, all the trucks in the trim I wanted had these 22 inch rims with rubber band tires. IT'S A 4x4 TRUCK FOR GOD SAKES!!! I want to drive over rocks and curbs when I need to get into tight places.
Anyway, I also wanted the longer bed, and the combination I wanted wasn't available, so I ordered it instead.

Dealers love to do stuff like this. In my rant above relating to rims, Ram charges $3000+ for replacing the 20" rims with 22" rims. Heck, I could buy a set of 22" rims with tires for less than that and then still have the other set as a spares. They make money off this stupid crap like crazy.

In another case I had a 2007 California Special Mustang. I took the hood scoop off to put stripes on it, and I wanted original style push in barbed plastic clips - you know, the type that cost $0.10 each. I needed 10, and the dealer said they were $16.50. Now get this. EACH! So if some poor bastard has their car fixed at the dealer and they need 10 of these, they get charged $165 for a couple of bucks worth of parts.
