Will Nissan survive?

I had to special order my 2020 Ram. I absolutely did not want a sun roof for the same reason. Also, all the trucks in the trim I wanted had these 22 inch rims with rubber band tires. IT'S A 4x4 TRUCK FOR GOD SAKES!!! I want to drive over rocks and curbs when I need to get into tight places.
Anyway, I also wanted the longer bed, and the combination I wanted wasn't available, so I ordered it instead.

Dealers love to do stuff like this. In my rant above relating to rims, Ram charges $3000+ for replacing the 20" rims with 22" rims. Heck, I could buy a set of 22" rims with tires for less than that and then still have the other set as a spares. They make money off this stupid crap like crazy.

In another case I had a 2007 California Special Mustang. I took the hood scoop off to put stripes on it, and I wanted original style push in barbed plastic clips - you know, the type that cost $0.10 each. I needed 10, and the dealer said they were $16.50. Now get this. EACH! So if some poor bastard has their car fixed at the dealer and they need 10 of these, they get charged $165 for a couple of bucks worth of parts.

People don't call them 'stealerships' for nothing.....and I'm all for special ordering new vehicles. I've only done 2 in my lifetime mainly because I bought most of mine used and only got one used one from a stealership. It did turn out to be a good one though.

yeah.. i'm actually going to look at other **** today... sick of this. I have never had dealers this bad.. on top of that, the sticker is what it is, can't go lower.. bullshit. (really in a crap mood today).. I was going to get a hyundai santa cruz.. a buddy had one and loved it (he works for them though) but there is only 1 dealer near me and there are reviews of minor repairs taking 6 months since you can't do anything bout it... unreal.

BTW.. didn't realize you can get a ranger with a V6... i really don't want turbos BUT.... and really don't like that it has a internal rubber oil pump belt which is just weird but seems fine... still looking around.

Ok.. so here's a fun update.. i just got off the phone with the dealer in kentucky, they can get me the one from ohio and deliver it... BUT.. literally 2 minutes after i got off the phone with her.. the General Manager and the Sales manager from my local dealer about 4 miles away are both on the phone with me wanting to find out what happened..

I told them about how the email chain went and all that... Turns out the guy emailing me wasn't even a salesman.. and they were PISSSED... he was BDR (basically a guy that grabbed the email and wasn't supposed to) or something? dunno.. but they are looking for the exact thing and bending over backwards to make it better which would be nice since they are 4 miles from me.

Formerly Datsun. I had a 240Z, a 300 ZX and now a 280ZX. Loved them then and now.

Never really liked many Datsuns or Nissans
I did have a Datsun 1600 1968 sports car was a fun lil' car
underpowered but handled great, silver & black convertible

I had a 74 (IIRC P20 ?) lil' Datsun PU std cab short bed, in the early 80's
my stepdad loved it, so I gave it to him after doing a bunch of lil' items on it
all new weather striping & rubber, sealed the leaky valve-cover, checked the valves
new clutch/pressure plate & disc, new brakes, filters etc.
my best friend was the Concord Nissan Parts Mngr
so I got stuff at a great price & the right stuff, easy to work on too

Drove a Pathfinder for a time, as a demo/loaner
from the dealership group I worked with
POS IMO looked nice, mid 90s, sucked going up to Tahoe, had no power
& it had the big v6
Here, that 1600 would be a Fairlady. Friend of my brother’s road raced a 2000. Did quite well in his class.

We bought our 92 4Runner with a sun/moon roof in December 1991. Sold it in Feb 2013 with about 240,000 miles. Never had a problem with leaks.
Bought our 2006 4Runner in December 2012. It has 147,000 miles without a sun roof leakage problem.

yeah.. i hear a lot of crazy high milage stories..

So... i just setup for Carvana to come get my jeep.. took bout 15 minutes.. they offered me 20.6k for a car i paid 32k for 8 years ago...

All the stories i have read all say yup... guy comes out and looks at it for 10-15 minutes.. hands you a check and tows it away..

It honestly feels like a scam it's so easy.. will see how it goes.
