When doing final door gaps

should the latches and strikers be on?
should the weather stripping be installed? Does it make a difference?
should I have the door glass in?

What about when I am doing final bodywork? (filler)

I assume you remove the glass, if so because of the weight of the glass that has been removed
wont the door flex up just a bit? how do you compensate for this?
should the latches and strikers be on?

Thank you

during mock up, I put the rubber bumpers on the doors and nothing else....... I dont want the latch pulling it up or down

after paint, same thing; install the striker last

without any weight in the door you might want to aim a tad high.....

others may have a different method and we all end up in the same place, possibly

I'd have the glass in and maybe the strikers. The weight will make a difference. On the other hand, the strikers shouldn't affect the alignment if properly positioned, so empty as eldub440 said should be fine.

So because I have NO experience and I have replaced or removed EVERYTHING, I'm thinking I should put the door glass and quarter glass in and test the fitment, just to put my mind at ease. Might as well install the belt molding while I'm at it.

I will also have to have the latches and strikers in to hold the door as I have a little panel matching to do with a slide hammer.

I have tested the door bumpers and the drivers side is good. But the pass side bumpers do not touch.
They are off by approx 3/16. So I guess I will have to fix those by welding in a raised area on the door.

Thanks for the feed back.

When I get to body work I'm sure I'll have more questions!
