Any Jeep folks here?

Undercoat gun with spray tubes they sell. Not that expensive. The have a kit on the Fluid Film website.
I had no idea they were so accessible. I'll hit a NAPA before the leaves start falling. Probably give it 2 or 3 coats - it's an 06, currently 113k miles, and ZERO rust...but likely never been treated before. I'm the second owner, and from what I heard the first owner never offroaded it or used it like a Jeep (I'm making up for that lol). So far I've undercoated underneath (after surface rust conversion), bedlined the entire interior, and tossed the carpeting (all it does is hold moisture and grow funky smelling mold anyway). I did space the skidplate that holds the transfer case, down from the frame by 1/2" - these love to rust the frame out where the skid plate attaches because moisture gets between the two pieces and just...stays. But my hope is, by spacing the skidplate down using washers, and creating airspace between the plate and the frame, it won't rust. I make a point to hose off underneath whenever I get it gunked up...but I'd really like to treat the insides of the frame rails for peace of mind.

Find the big holes in the frame and put hose in it. You'll be amazed how much comes out, wait a couple days then treat it. I flush them in the sping and fall, treat it to Fluid Film in the fall.

I forgot about the TJ frames, search online about drilling holes for drainage. Thats their weakness.

Yeah I've been hosing out the interior of the rails - plenty of large orifices (orifi?) to stick the hose in. I do the same on my '01 Ram 2500...gotta keep these antiques from rusting away!

I may look into drilling a couple holes at low points, for drainage.

Think I've had about 30 jeeps over the last 26 years

Doing mantainence now as winter is coming. Got a perfect 94 zj ( in 2000 w/144k) with 240k as a winter beater for the pass.
They salt so much, its crumbling apart. Breaks my heart as we love the awd on the snowy highway.
Got a clean 96 obd ll to replace it. Everyone says, get something newer! I would, but I don't want to pay out to have the state ruin it. I've looked under their cars. Good thing they trade in.
Mufflers every 2 years. Radiators corrode to the point of no fins, thankfully they are cheap. Brake rotors rust away where pads don't touch. Rust everywhere. Rear reinforcement collapsed standing on bumper.
I don't know how you midwest guys do it?
We just wash them more often :)

My daily driver is a 2007 Jeep Commander. 5.7 Hemi. Love it. Except for the times all gauges, fan, turn signals etc go out while driving. Never stops running and driving as normal when this happens. My muffler needs to be replaced as its a little loud but I don't replace it as it lets me know the Jeep is still running when all gauges etc stop working.

My wife loves Jeeps she's on her third one but after today it might be here last. 2023 Grand Cherokee damn thing got stuck in 1st gear twice today. She pulled over put it in park then drive same thing. Pulled over again but this time turned it off after putting in park. Has been fine since. I'm taking it to the dealership Thursday. Hopefully nothing serious but after looking online seems like this yr model has had this issue.

My latest Jeep rant. You guys know I have a real 1977 CJ-5 Golden Eagle. The very first year. I bought it around 79 from a friend that bought it new. I have had it since. It was my daily driver for 25+years until it just got too rusty. I also went off road with it before that was a fad.
So we did a frame off restoration saving everything we could. We did have to replace the tub but saved everything else. So she is still mostly original including the wheels.
I go to Jeep shows and fests and enter show and shine in the vintage class. I rarely win unless it is a peoples choice. The judges usually pick a CJ-7 lifted 8 feet up with a SBC and headers dumping in front of the rear wheels. With chrome wheels and huge tires.
There is nothing vintage about it but they win
Just got home from the OC Jeep fest same thing again.
I don't get it
OK I'm done now
