What was your favorite toy car?

The Ringmaster Jr with the bigger engine was definitely a step up from what I had been flying. It was a great flying plane and I was able to do some aerobatics with it using a fuel tank that allowed inverted flight.

I dug the engine and tank out 25+ yrs ago with the intent of building another plane, but there weren't many control line kits available at the time so I ended up putting everything back away. I guess RC had pretty much taken over by then and there wasn't much demand for the CL stuff.
I'll check with my brother if he has a Ringmaster or Ringmaster Jr kit if you are interested
He's got lots of kits.

How about tonka and other metal cars?

That orange corvette was a Tonka friction wind-up type car. We had a VW Rabbit version too… Built like a brick $?!thouse and would dent up a living room baseboard like nobodies business!

Later versions were a little smaller and had a button to release the stored energy.

I see a vintage RC10 there. :)

RC-10 in real good shape. I saved everything for it. Very nice original box (no room on shelf) and papers. Gold pan few scrapes in the back. Upgraded to ball bearing wheels instead of bronze bushings.

Had the RC-12 first, but didn’t do well on the cracks in pavement around neighborhood. The Futaba controller and servos were carried over from the RC-12 to the RC-10.

*Neither have solid state throttle. They have a swing arm on wound coil.

RC-10 never really saw dirt… not much in our area in L.A.

Very nice, I love that ancient wheel controller behind your RC10. My first RC was The Frog, no matter how much I upgraded it, it still ran like crap. I got heavily into Kyosho Optimas after that and have resto-modded several.

I have a Hornet, then got the BigWig when it came out. Made swaybars for it etc, ended up 3rd in 4wd indoor season. In the 80s

When I was racing on a course I ran my favorite, the green Miura, and when we set up all the straight pieces for drag racing I ran the truck. I won a lot with the truck, but I loved the Miura!

Mine was the Matchbox K-16 Dodge Tipper truck & trailer set - King Size vehicles. My childhood ones are buried deep in a box at my parents'
house....so I started buying more when they came up on our local auction site.

And for cars it was always the Dodge Dragster - Matchbox 1:64" scale - I also bought a few of these....and I eventually found a couple of rare variations of the Charger to go with them.
(both photos below are web grabs as my display case is covered with boxes of garage trinkets)

Hot Smoker is a really rare example.... and in the condition I have, it is worth a decent amount now. I also have the box for the Hot Smoker which is nearly mint condition.

I was cleaning up a little in my garage and saw the display cases which had been buried behind stuff....

The Boss Mustang box was free ....the Hot Smoker was carefully packed inside it when I bought it.

When my Dad bought his 70 Rpadrunner, with it came a Shutdown game which he gave to us. It was the Plymouth version as that was what he bought, although I know they also had a Dodge version. We loved that game, we loved drag racing, and played with that game for hours. Nothing like shifting through the gears just like Dad, and better yet if you beat your brother to the shutdown box
