I thought it looked out of place also
Why is it the only big tree in the picture ?
If it was that rotten why did it not fall apart when it hit the ground ??

In my time, I've cut up somewhere around 100 cords of wood. I've seen a ton of dead trees. Death usually doesn't start and stop that evenly, and no one rolled it up on that stump for a photo op.
