1965 Coronet AWB Build

Thx Guys...

It is a blast to run around in...

People look at you like your nuts...

I haven't had a 4 speed for 30 years or so...

I've never had a big block and a 4 speed so I'm having a blast...

I'm glad all the hard work paid off for you,
And you were able to enjoy it for a brief minute. Look at it this way it gives you something to tinker with in your spare time
Spare time...(laughing)

Some new drums and a pair of used hubs and all is well...

The new drums are nearly twice as thick where the wheel bolts on as the old ones...

I didn't get another set of wheel spacers...

For now I'll just run around without the Ansen center caps on the slots...

Logged about 20 miles on it today dodging rain drops...

Wipe it down and I'm ready for the two car shows local to me on Saturday...

Maybe even take it to breakfast...

So the car is all back together and I've been running it around some...

I did get 4 new tires for it and had the toe set...

Rears are 8.20 15 Radir pie crust slicks...The are about 29-29.5 tall...

Fronts are 5.60 15 Firestones from Coker...

Did get a neat pic of the car from a car show last w/e...

Almost looks like it could have been a lot of years ago...

Old school paint job on the Nova behind me...

So I decided to take this to Carlisle on Saturday (7/13)...

Don't know what space as I'll just register when I get to the gate...

I'd imagine it would just be in the 65 B Body Modified row...

Haven't updated this since Carlisle...

Just been driving it around to different shows...

Maybe I'll do a few upgrades and modifications over the winter...

For now it's back into the shed for winter...

I've pulled this out and run around a little so far this "spring"???

It had sat since December...fired it up without any issues...

For something with dual carbs its surprisingly not cold natured...

Need to do an oil and filter change...

I want to pull the rocker shafts and look them over on the bottom under the rockers...

I bought new squirters for the 660 carbs...

I'm thinking it needs a little less jet and maybe a little less squirt...

After that its mix a barrel of fuel and log miles...

I guess no news is good news...

Been to several shows and logged a bunch of miles...

Went to Carlisle and sat on the show field...
wave

May or may not have participated in a street race...
shruggy

Not really fair but there's one stroked small block chevy that wasn't stroked enough to keep up...
haha

Halfway through a second barrel of fuel so far and no problems...
beer

Not really noticing any rear tire wear as it doesn't want to spin...

Put about 325 miles on it this w/e running around to different shows...

Friday am up to Jennerstown Pa. and then back to the house to fill up and head to Romney W Va. that evening for a cruise through town...

First thing Saturday was back to Romney for a car show and then up to Berlin Pa. that evening for a get together at Lenny Lottig's race shop...

Fuel barrel is empty again...

Two weeks ago we went to a show about 70 mile one way from home...

Got home and filled it back up and went to a 20 mile away show...

Last w/e was the Street Rod Round-up in my area and I drove and abused it from Thursday through Sunday...

The Thursday night cruise through town in Frostburg is a heck of a stress test on a car...

It made a couple trips with no issues except left leg fatigue...

FWIW the barrel is empty again...

I'll get the 4th barrel for it soon...

The Pontiac was in the background of all of the build pics for when the AWB car was painted...

But it was always covered up...

Both were being built simultaneously...

Mine went to get lettered...we went to pick it up and dropped the Pontiac off...

Both lettered by Charlie Murray in the spring of 2024...
