Reason I do the ultrasonic is, I don't have to remember to keep spraying stuff. Plug in, walk away.
I didn’t get them because I thought they were more of a gimmick. I did a little research on the internet and they got mixed reviews. Peppermint oil got mostly good reviews plus I figured it would make my car smell good.

That said, I also try and keep my garage doors closed pretty much always. Keeps the dehumidifier workload under control, and keeps stray critters from making a new home (it is cool and dark in there, after all....)
It’s pulling moisture out of the air but I think the heavy humidity may be out of here for now. I want to mention also what I used to clean everything up. @dadsbee was spot on with the Lysol. The Lysol worked great.
Did you get a hydrometer? What is the humidity inside vs outside? It’s still 80-90+% humidity here. My garages are around 35-45% humidity, some days over 50%.
This is the key right here !! My shop is air conditioned - I just can't take the heat when working anymore. So when I open the shop to roll the car out, the car is instantly coated in moisture - which is fine because it also warms up and evaporates quickly. But stuff in the shop gets condensation and the potential for mold and rust. Close the shop quickly and run the dehumidifier !!
I'm just guessing that just absorbs moisture but does nothing to actually kill mold. And once it's saturated it's done - needs to be dried out ir replaced.

That is the same as damp rid. It won’t show you much. Where I get 5-8 gallons of water a day out of my dehumidifiers, the damp rid buckets get maybe a cup every week or so. Get you one of these.
Dang, that’s cheap enough. I will look into one of them. Wow! 5 gallons a day is a lot.
Yes, you will be surprised. If you want to see route your drain hose to a bucket. It will fill in a day. Mold is a side effect of serious moisture problems. Just because you don’t see mold doesn’t mean your moisture problems are solved. Moisture is a big enemy for your car. Rust likes moisture.
