Is 4.5 months prior to car production considered date code correct for engine block?

What's the build date stamped on the motor?

a C (model year 1967) 9 6 assembly for a 922 Scheduled production date is about right. It's an early in the year car but that really doesn't mean much.

Even though the block appears to have been cast in '65, a block is a block is a block. The bare block was obviously in inventory for about a year before being assembled as an HP assembly.
 
My 67 block was cast 1-9-67 and assembled on 5 23 for an actual shipped date of 5/26.
 
My 66 is a Lynch Rd car
cars SBD is early April 1966
Engine assy date is early March 1966. Ive not ckd block casting date

Now, In all honesty. the block in my car IS NOT the one it was born with
BUT the car my block came from had a SBD three days from my cars SBD and it WAS the original block to that car, Same Lynch Rd plant

So I could tell you its the original block in my car. But I know for a fact . It is not
