where can you get shift cables for a floor shifter . i have the shifter no cables

Which type of car?

No Mopar muscle car factory floor shifters ever came with cables - they all had mechanical linkage.
If you have an aftermarket shifter I would think Summit or Jegs should be able to get them.

Now later models (1980's and up) FWD cars had cables.
Is that what you are referring to?

1964 and 1965 did.

TORQUEFLITE CONSOLE SHIFT

All Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth Console Models, whether equipped with automatic or manual transmissions, have gearshift selector levers on the console. The A-727 torqueflite shift lever, in console models, extends through a fore-and-aft slot in the console and is spring loaded to the right against a series of gates. There are six selective positions, reading from rear to front - Low (1), Second (2), Drive (d), Neutral (N), Reverse (R), and Park (P).

In addition to the gating provided along the top of the lever bracket, each of the six positions is detented.

The back-up light switch is mounted on the cable operating lever and is actuated by a hump on the side plate when the shift lever is moved into reverse.

Yes, better description of what you have, so we know what you are looking for. Otherwise, typically you are looking for a Morse type cable. Got mine from Control Cable in CA. Routing and length can be a bitch. I have a couple of mistakes in a box.

Depending on what transmission you're using. Newer transmissions don't have any provisions for the cables. Something could be made up with the leaver transmissions if that's what you have.

If you're converting a pushbutton shifter to a console shifter, you'll need the correct cables. $200 for the park cable and $300 for the shifter cable. I saw a used shifter cable advertised for $300. They're listed here and there.

Transmission shift/park cable set for 1962-65 Plymouth Belvedere, 1962-64 Fury - Savoy, 1962 Dodge Dart, 1962-64 Polara - 330 - 440 and 1965 Coronet - Satellite with push-button, floor console or column shift

I've actually seen a guy modify a 65 shifter to work a regular shifter cable and a newer trans. I was impressed it worked.
