I'm having a hell of a time trying to get the 1/4 glass back into its track. I wanted to change it because it was loose in both tracks. I have the right size tape and tried using kerosene to soften it. The damn thing won't go past a certain depth. Anyone try doing this?

Kerosene might be a bad idea. You want a lubricant that will evaporate and dry up. I used aerosol glass cleaner that foams up. You might get a couple large work clamps and put slight pressure on the glass pushing and holding it to the channel. Then lightly pound the channel into the glass. The clamps should help keep the area that you are not pounding into the channel. They like to pop out. Do your work on a bench with a blanket to protect everything.

Using new seal in the channel? And did you remove the SS seal that attaches on the front of the glass?

I've always used ATF, worked well. Agree with the front weatherstrip channel, should be riveted on. And the rubber mallet.

Pound it on with a rubber mallet.
I did and made the mistake of trying to use a regular hammer. I damaged the track the glass sits in. I even tried a little heat, but it still wouldnt budge. I have another track,
And if you need the SS rivets for the front seal, I have a lot.
I bought a bag of them and a rivet gun.

You may want to install that front SS after you put the window in. Need to align with the door glass to get a proper seal, so may need to move the quarter glass some. Just be careful not to break the section off that attaches to the window "holder".

Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to do. I drilled out the rivets and bought the right sized ones to replace them. Its impossible to try and put the lower track in with the S.S vertical at the same time.

I used this video for help doing mine.....
