Finally starting the 69 GTX

Finally starting to work on the GTX I traded my 66 Chevelle 300 for. At the moment just removing the interior and a few other interesting items to see what lies in store for me. So the SRT8 seats are out so is the laminate flooring. Back seat was held in with wood screws through back into the sheet metal and on top on 2x4s screwed into the floor. Found expanding foam under the back window looks like the package tray (think that’s what it is called) is pretty rusted. Trying to do this all myself so guess I will get to learn welding and body work. This will be a slow process.

You and I are in the same boat, I just bought the Titanium easy flux welder from harbor freight and will have to learn to use it, as well as learning everything else as I go. The seats might have been screwed in, but at least you have seats.

They weren't shy about the spray foam, why do people use that on vehicles.
I have no idea why they use it. Assuming here it was used because of the hole in that support structure instead of patching it.

I need to address the Dutchman and one bottom corner of my rear window area in my car, at least there's no spray foam in mine!

Back in the garage with warmer weather and time to work on the car. Got the dash pulled and what a mess there is.

Looks like typical old car wiring thats been hacked and spliced over the years. Since you're that far in, replace that stuff with new. Keep your old molded connectors if your replacement wiring comes with them. Always useful later.

Plan is to do new wiring throughout the entire car. Never done it before but as you said I am in this far…

Believe it or not, rewiring the car is not that bad if you buy good quality harnesses. The hardest part under the dash, in my opinion, was always figuring out the add-ons aside from the base harness. But the rest of the car is pretty straight forward. And it is much easier to rewire the dash with it out of the car.
