I’ve had some seat bottoms go in just as you described and I was wondering if it was just me getting old and weaker.
FYI; looking at the picture, there seems to be a slight bow in the seat back. Grabbing the bottom of the seat back and pulling it forward will get that bow out.

Yes, I have a police car (Plymouth Savoy) but it wasn't a original one! It was a civil car (original blue) and in 2008 it has been restored as a police car (tribute to car 54 where are you). In 2008 it has been sold at an auction in Nevada / Las Vegas and in 2015 it has been imported to Germany...
Looking for a dash frame for a 65 coronet, just needs to be usable. The car I picked up someone started to build a drag car and cut most of the dash frame out.
