67 GTX - Were hood scoop mount holes factory punched or drilled?

That sounds like a nice car.

67 GTX - Were hood scoop mount holes factory punched or drilled?

I went out and took a closer look and laid the edge of a pop cycle stick across several of the holes and they were all perfectly flat as long as I avoided any raised burrs. They sort of look like they may have been center-drilled (a guess) and then enlarged with maybe a tapered ream or grinder...

67 GTX - Were hood scoop mount holes factory punched or drilled?

Jerry, that’s kind of what I was mulling over in my mind - that volume probably wasn’t enough to have the supplier set up a separate station to punch them out. It’s kind of complicated too by the inner frame needing to be drilled/punched out too for some studs. If punched, I think the frame...

67 GTX - Were hood scoop mount holes factory punched or drilled?

I removed one of my hood scoops to get it color matched for some touch up paint and noted that the mount holes appear drilled as they have sharp edges and small barbs on the outer surface. Certainly not punched so I’m wondering if it’s the original hood or a retro-fitted Satellite/Belvedere...

Lowered the Satellite rear end today. Much MUCH better ,

I don’t think might are technically period correct but they are close enough for me.

Lowered the Satellite rear end today. Much MUCH better ,

I think my tires are 225/75-15. My mufflers were hanging low when I bought the car and I put new muffler hangers on it, loosened up the head pipes and removed the tailpipes and jacked the mufflers up higher before tightening everything up. Then I bought new tail pipes and instead of buying new...

Lowered the Satellite rear end today. Much MUCH better ,

I don’t think mine is other than stock, except for 15” wheels but it appears to be sitting about like your “after” photos based on the top off the wheel rim and wheel well lip. My tires are taller.

    Interesting '67 GTX tailpipe routing

I think basically the same. I have TTI 2-1/2” tailpipes run in stock location on my GTX. A little snug but works fine.

    Interesting '67 GTX tailpipe routing

Probably a GM guy came up with that. Not to crazy about the tips angling in. I grew up in the 60s and the 67 GTX with the exhaust tips angling to the outside was one of their most distinctive, unique and timeless details of the model.

Changed my stock hemi mufflers to some Dynomax Super Turbos . I like it better

The second one sounded pretty good - but you say it’s the Hemi reproductions too? Every phone and camera seems to record sound differently.

Currently looking into this '67 Coronet

Paint jobs are not cheap anymore but if the car is solid it sounds like a good deal.

What has happened to all the 66/67 B-body Plymouth painted gas caps?

Has it struck anyone else as strange that all the painted Plymouth gas caps seem to have disappeared off the face of earth? I mean how many 66 Belvedere Is, Satellites, 67 Satellites, Belvedere Is and Belvedere IIs were made? They just don’t seem to exist in the used parts marketplace. Yet...

    67 gtx engine detailing

Only on 1966 cars originally. Things were moved around on the firewall in 67 to clear the Hemi. And only one bolt for the bracket was on the horizontal area of the fender.

Cleaning 67 Coronet Wheel lip trim and Rocker moldings

Wheel lips are stainless. Plymouth 67 rocker panel molding are anodized aluminum. I assume Dodge are the same but not sure. The wheel lip moldings can be polished up with a metal polish and scratches worked out by sanding with several progressive grit levels of sandpaper before polishing...

'67 GTX Flip Top Gas Cap Seal Problems

Mine is old and hard but not broken up yet. I need to replace it so I’ll be watching to see what you find out. But isn’t the seal gasket on the flip lid the primary seal to the filler tube? Or does it just clamp down on the bezel flange?

Lets see all the cool 66-67 b-body mopar pictures.!!

Maybe? It may be petrified by now. Of course if it were an old Corvette and was factory, you would be drawn and quartered for removing it. :)

    Inconsistent Idle

Soft throttle return spring. Worn/sticking throttle shafts in carb. Worn throttle cable. All a possibility to look at. Any particular reason for having your advance start at that high of rpm?

    66 Satellite wheel size

I bet you have power steering. :) The 235/75 on my 66 Hemi. with manual steering, give me a heck of a workout getting in and out of my side loading garage. I’m think smaller when I re-tire it.

67 Hemi 4-speed GTX on BaT

You could be right - Hemi parts are expensive as are 66/67 parts - scarce and expensive to begin with.
