Not a bad night of testing. Won $500 for having the best reaction of the night. My last pass and according to the time slip, 30 seconds before the contest closed at 9PM.
Car is slower, but as I expected. Will need to fine tune shock adjustment for the lower power level, but all in all a win for...
I must say I am impressed with TTI. Two different sets of headers, one for set for my low deck 400 and another for my RB, and the mid-pipes fit for both sets. Impressive.
I’m limited to 10.0. So the 572 had an ET Genie on it and the reason I ran through exhaust. That motor easily capable of high 9.70’s opened up on a good air day. Not bad for 4000 pounds with me in it.
Haven’t gotten deep enough into the 572 to determine what is all up with it yet. But once I tear into it, I’m sure the answer will reveal itself.
The 511 (old faithful) is a 13.5-1 400 block, billet mains, 4.250x 4.375 with Indy EZ-1 heads. Indy single plane manifold with a Wilson port job. 2”...
Filter full of aluminum. Need to find out where it is coming from. Also had some witness marks on the T&D rockers, so that needs to be addressed as well. Have enough room before CB that a -.050 keeper should fix that, but need to see where the bulk of the aluminum came from? Marks on the rockers...
572 had to come out as I have some issues to address with it, so the 511 gets the nod. It has a different cam than before, so no idea what it may ET or MPH? Now need a date with a track to test.
I have been following your build for awhile now, the detail is incredible. If I ever decide to quit racing, the 6.4 Hemi setup is probably the way I would go as well. Keep up the great work.
Didn’t qualify for the quick 8 this year, so settled for the lucky 16 bracket. Air was horrible. Car was 2/10ths slower. Had a mulligan in the second round. Was dead off the line, so I dumped him on the big end. He broke out. Used it and never looked back.
Win comes with a custom fitted jacket...
Thanks. Other priorities this winter ate up a bulk of my time. So the garage work was placed on the back burner.
Hopefully all is well on your end too! See you on the weekend.
I guess I should think about putting my transmission back in. Ambition became lost over the winter. Now that it has finally started warming up, maybe I’ll find some focus.
Did get the Challenger out of the trailer after a long winter nap. Back at home where it belongs.
Remcharger is from that area, I see he has posted already. He may know. Malex is south of there and I’m west of there.
Heard of the place. Don’t know their business or rep though.
I put a spool in Barney a few years back. There was a tight spot in the lash in a few spots. Two races later I peeled 3 teeth off the pinion.
Your thread here reveals to my why I had a tight spot now. Tight meaning less backlash.
Will monitor closer going forward now. Thanks for sharing.
Ahh. That was a good motor for me.
I believe it was done.
I ran a Cloyes in it as well. It was the smaller size not standard. But I believe the chain still slacked a bit.
Here is the dyno sheet off that motor. It ran 10.90’s in Barney.
