toss the timing chain and the rubber......... keep the rest if you can...... things I set aside as junk years ago is now valuable....... gimme a good used part any day compared to the junk being produced today ;for example, I have a 383 under my bench........ I plan on harvesting the fuel pump...

you won't get oil up top unless you rotate the assembly while drilling, so I would say "no"

I used teflon tape on my header bolts as far back as the 80s...... never had a problem I put that sh!t on everything :D

I have screwed an air fitting into the spark plug hole on compression stroke and plugged in an air hose to find a burnt valve.......it obviously blew air out the tail pipe

I noticed the cars that have a rubber hose from the breather cap to the air breather is kinda bogus....... it doesn't suck "filtered" air as the nipple is outside of the filter element....... so whats the purpose of the hose other than keeping the valve cover clean and trashing the air filter...
