Agree with Kern.You have to move it enough to detach the splines. Looks like your car was swapped from power to manual (Seeing the adapter.) So no steering shaft mods will be needed. Those adapters go upwards of $125. Hang on to it !

All depends on your budget. The cheap Summit/Jegs brand fit right up to a 318 74 RR duals we did back in the late 70's. Ohio weather, they might not last many years. But now you can get them ceramic coated for a few bucks more. Then there is TTI. Cost way more but are high quality in my book...

My original Marathons on my car trailer back in 1995 lasted 10 years and well over 100K. Next 4 sets I couldn't get 4 years out of them before failing. Tread separation, broken belts etc. I believe they have what it known as manufactured to fail date built in .

I see the prices went up since I last looked. Was thinking about pullin' the 727 in my old truck for a OD. At the time it was about $4 to $5k. Just use the truck to haul stuff so canned that idea.

Did it back in 2002. 72 B Body. Lots of surgery to both the trans housing cutting off the bell and installing the JW bell. Also had to use a 10'' converter to fit the new bell. Then floorpan/trans crossmember work. As said above now there are easier swaps.

My Cobra's cracked in the same way. Purchase date was 2 years. Found the date code that they were 6 years old before I bought them.:mad:

I once bought the cheapest battery I could find at Auto Zone for about $79. It was their Valuecraft,a type 24. The warranty was 1 year. 6 years later the damn thing would not die. I hated to trade it as a core as it load tested perfect. Thinking that 6 years I was on borrowed time I replaced it.

I have seen this. Fluid crawls up the splines and exits behind the nut and washer or nut threads. Little silicone on splines and threads will stop this. I prefer a leather seal over the rubber ones. These are just thoughts.

Yes ^^^^ a 741 and 489 use a different seal than the 742

I agree with taller tires.Going from a 205/60 14 to a 225/7015 will give you a 1 1/2'' Every tire manufacture varies. It doesn't sound like much but every bit helps. Many tire companies have charts/specs for aspect ratios. My 63 has 75 series tires but I'm going for the early 60's look. 27''...

All the above statements. Like diesel_lv I had my 67 Dart done,little too dark for my liking. See tints and compare before committing. Don't let them seam the rear window on either car. It makes it easier for the installer but looks like crap.

Did a 67 Dart. At 120ish the car would "Float". Not very aerodynamic at those speeds. Cool video I would agree !

I believe it can be done.Many convert the tail to slip joint and remove the rear pump to the later 727 parts. With that understanding something like Gear Vendors may have the answer.
