If you have the old harness, make sure you pin out the new one against it. More than one M & H harness has had a few of the wires crossed right from the git go.

Don't get hung up on the value at the end. Not so long ago, I would have argued against this position, but time...
It's a long shot and not where I'd go first, but don't rule out one wrong length pushrod. A motor bends a pushrod and a frugal *ahem* mechanic grabs one out of the coffee can of spares. Unlikely, yes, but possible.
