You don't. The SG uses a set of thrust "buttons" held together with a split pin. Look for a "blow up" of a SG and you will understand what I am describing.

My wagon turned a 12.68 in the 1/4 with a .030 over 440 with the 509. I was using 346 heads (with 2 cracked valve seats) and my 6 pack, along with Dougs 2" headers and 10:1 CR. 4.30 gears w/ loose converter.

I don't remember where I found him but, a fella modifies stockers to get the correct shape to mirror the left side. In fact he screwed up the first manifold he sent me and had to build another as the outlet clocking aimed into the block. I think it was from this site.

I have no comparative analysis to offer, Just wanted to say that 2 1/2" pipe is too large for a mild 318. 2" would be a better match (dual). Too large a pipe slows the exhaust velocity and results in a power loss.
