That's ironic, when I bought my AMD valance for my '68 Charger almost 20 years ago, it didn't have back up light holes obviously, but it did have the wiring holes in the top that I had to fill. It must have been an early production thing from AMD. I have noticed a few '68s over the years that...
This was an ordered car by the original owner. We bought it from the original owner's son's best friend. He said that he remembers his buddy's dad talking about how he had to special order the combo. I don't have any proof of that because the build sheet is gone, but based on what the guy told...
I like seeing the original colors on our cars when restored, but if it's a custom build then whatever color it is doesn't really matter. If it was me and I was restoring a car to resemble stock and I just couldn't live with the stock color, I would probably paint it a color that I liked from the...
I think that it’s an ego thing myself. Guy has a nice car or some rare parts that he wants everyone to see and drool over and to tell him how much they would pay for it or at least to tell him that it’s way too nice to sell, etc. Not in every instance but I’m willing to bet in most.
I've done it too many times to count. My work shirt uniform is your typical collared/ button down shirt with front pockets. I never put anything in those pockets anymore because I've done it in the past, completely forgetting about those pockets and spent hours looking for small irreplaceable...
Bill told me 10-15 which is fine by me. He also said that I spoiled him because he's used to porting the iron manifolds and the aluminum intakes are like porting a stick of butter...lol
I was in this same boat recently. I had the 440 rebuilt for the Charger. I didn't get crazy with things because it's the original engine but it's making 530hp/540tq. I'm running Stealth heads that I had ported because I want the correct look. I'm doing a Day 2 vibe with the car, so I had my TTI...
I put the stabilizer plates in the doors on my Charger. Holding them up to the doors I still noticed a small void in between the plate and the door which would still let the skin suck in when the handle is tightened. I ended up using panel bond to hold the plates in. I had the doors off which...
I had pretty good success with a heat gun and a chisel. I tried a scraper but it was too flimsy for me, so I used a chisel like a scraper and it worked out great.
My '68 had what looks like a nail with twisted ribs on it to grab the metal as it goes in. I believe these to be original as the headliner was original.

Got the Goodyears mounted on the Cragars. L60 and F60 15s. Have the same sizes in Firestone redlines for the Magnums that will be getting mounted next.
