God we are a bunch of old F@ckers debating rivets and punch marks. Get out and do a tire scorching burn out in these machines once in a while.
Good for the soul.
Thanks 69. Good intel. I get the 999 paint code Chuck or is it Mike? My bad.
I Learn something new every day. However I'm not seeing that code on Chuck's half shaded Petty blue fender tag unless I missed it.
For everyone's benefit it would be interesting to see a fender tag or build sheet associated with this option. I just took a look at my build sheet and there are a few spots to where this option could have been coded.
Any of you fender tag / build sheet gurus out there know?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a dick head purist. Let's at least try to be directionally correct here. If the 999 code is correct then a build sheet or fender tag should show that, right? Along with rocker panel trim, right?
Again, this thread is about rocker panel trim. Available or not...
Please make me look stupid Charles/Mike. A 999 paint code is Bahama Yellow available on the 69 Charger I believe. See below and help dial me in. Surely if you are the second owner of this all original car you have at least a fender tag or build sheet?
Just trying to sort out rocker molding trim...
Not trying to argue with you Charles but I have never, ever, ever seen that on a first gen. Maybe a 70. Especially not on a 68. Is that your car? Builders choice perhaps? Petty blue 68?
Would be interesting to know how you claim it was an option. Build sheet? Fender tag?
Pretty sure they are different plus it depends on what differential is in the car. I would assume a Dana if it's a true Hemi car.
The internet is your friend. At the end of the day best practice would be to measure your particular set up and have one built to fit.
I don't think I've ever seen it there on a Bird either. The first gen Runners were a no frills cheap hot rod. They started the muscle car craze.
Your friend may be thinking of a GTX or Sport Satellite.
As stated above I've seen both used in combo on the same panel from the factory.
I have found the one legged ones to be easier to work with both install and removal. The two legged ones can scratch the hell out of paint during install if not careful. The one legged ones not so much.
the guy drilling holes was drunk on the assembly line.
Probably more true than anything. I could write a book on $hit I've seen over the years on our old Mopars.
Hand built cars. No robots. Got to love them.
More detail please. Please elaborate on "thick chrome trim molding under the doors". Do you mean on the rocker panels? On the bottom edge of the door? What do you mean by thick?
