Could you get thick chrome trim molding under the doors on a 69 Roadrunner my buddy says it was a option but I dont think ive ever seen it on a Roadrunner

More detail please. Please elaborate on "thick chrome trim molding under the doors". Do you mean on the rocker panels? On the bottom edge of the door? What do you mean by thick?

Are you referring to "rocker panel molding" ? If so, then based off my crotchety ol' memory, yes they were an option. And no, I don't recall seeing them.

I don't think I've ever seen it there on a Bird either. The first gen Runners were a no frills cheap hot rod. They started the muscle car craze.
Your friend may be thinking of a GTX or Sport Satellite.

You could get it on the décor package

Not trying to argue with you Charles but I have never, ever, ever seen that on a first gen. Maybe a 70. Especially not on a 68. Is that your car? Builders choice perhaps? Petty blue 68?
Would be interesting to know how you claim it was an option. Build sheet? Fender tag?

My car, I purchased it from the original owner which was my mom’s neighbor. It’s all original. Original 999 paint, original engine and transmission. A buddy and I restored the car ourselves. The décor package came with them along with trunk finish panel and duel mirrors and Chrome on roof post.

Please make me look stupid Charles/Mike. A 999 paint code is Bahama Yellow available on the 69 Charger I believe. See below and help dial me in. Surely if you are the second owner of this all original car you have at least a fender tag or build sheet?
Just trying to sort out rocker molding trim options here. Easy bolt on accessory and quite honestly doesn't look very good on the car.

999 is a special paint code, and could be any color. As long as it's special

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a dick head purist. Let's at least try to be directionally correct here. If the 999 code is correct then a build sheet or fender tag should show that, right? Along with rocker panel trim, right?
Again, this thread is about rocker panel trim. Available or not? Regardless, I think it looks like @ss on a 68 or 69.

Don’t put them on YOUR car if you feel that way. They came on my car from the factory and that’s why they are still on there. The lady I got the car from said they came with the décor package and I have no reason to doubt her. I grew up beside her and from day one it had them.
